I am tired of using the rental masks, time to purchase a NON-FOGGING mask. From researching online, it appears the JT Proflex & vForce Grills/Profiler are good masks that don't fog. Guess, I am looking for opinions from the more experienced. Also, a plus would be a camo mask. Thanks.
Gene

PS. I figure this would be my 1st purchase.

The proflex is a very good mask, and is very popular. However, the ear protection they have is not really great.People have even been sent to the hospital for ruptured eardrums. And,the flexible part at the bottom is very breathable, but the breathing holes are so large that,if you get shot in the mouth, pieces of paint shell will hit your lip and probably bust it a little. So,if you can stand getting shot in the ear and small pieces of paint on your lip, then yes,it is a great mask.

Excellent points. JT is out. What do you think of the vForce Grill vs Profiler? Thanks. I haven't been able to find the vForce in camo.

Profiler has better protection, easy change lens (as does Grillz), no soft ears (soft rubber mold extends to cover ears well). I personally use and love Profilers.

I like proflexes the best. Never had a problem with getting shot in the ear, or getting my lip busted open.

Between the profilers and grills, I like the grills the best. They fit me better, and are more comfortable to me. Both masks are nice though.

For your first mask I would go with the Profiler, you can't go wrong.. Or I'd look into getting the E-Flex, but the proflex.. The ear protection is shoddy and the lenses are a pain in the ass to change.

More good points. vforce Profiler, now to find camo, may be stuck with black. Thanks everyone for making valid points. One more question, how is the vforce profiler on fogging?

I would recommend a proto switch FS.

I like that one (ie camo), but reading the reviews it fogs. It seems like the vForce Profiler is best for NOT fogging. Thanks for your input.

What about the JT Flex 8 camo? Is it a soft shell?

It's hard but not rock hard. It's not soft like the proflex but it's not hard like the rental masks. Honestly the proflex is fine, I've been shot 5 feet way straight shot to the bottom rubber and nothing cut/busted my lip. The majority of people that have used a flex love it in my experience.

make sure you get the thermal dual lense with the profilers. Then they will never ever fog. the single pane thermals are great for the first couple of outings but once you get into the 5th or 6th day of play, it might start to wear off :(

I have both and I find the profilers comfortable. more so then my eflex or proflex.

I have both the VForce Grill and Profiler.

The main advantage of the Profiler is its wider angle of view (larger lense) and the fact that it offers more protection than the Grill since the material built with it is harder and the design of it is also larger.

The Grill gives you a lower profile (sleeker look) and comes with tempo pads so the mask sits over your ears more comfortably. Another plus to the Grill is that you can take it completely apart including the foam pieces.

I can't find thermal dual lense with the profilers, only the profilers thermal lens. Is the thermal the same as the dual thermal?

They are different. The Profiler mask will come with a single pane lense that is treated with an antifog chemical. This chemical works really well and the mask doesn't fog at all but it will wear off eventually. THe Dual pane thermal lense will have to be bought separate. If the chemical on the single pane lens wears off you could use fog doc which works well for me.

I use the profiler. Tried the event on before but still prefer the profiler. Nothing bad about it. Good protection and nice material. Easy to change lens. I wear glasses so the lack of anything around the ears pressing down on the glasses makes it great. And to whoever was talking about the anti fog coming off - after about couple of plays it's best to spray more on or change the lens altogether due to wear. You can get additional lens for the profiler pretty cheap 20$ I think. Plus it's about 60$ and get a backup lens for 20$ runs you up to 80$. Not expensive for a first mask.

Camo or no camo it doesn't really matter in the woods. As long as you stay still or you can even put camo tape and poke the holes yourself.

Don't just change the lense after a couple days of play. Do one of two things

1. Buy Fog Doc. I have it and it works really well.

2. Buy the thermal lense separately ~$25.
