Rain cover? worth it?

should i get a rain cover for shooting? or just use a plastic bag?

I haven't ever used one and my camera body has been shot several times without issues. Only thing that happened is I got a little paint under my pop up flash, the paintball caused it to pop open. I just used a can of air and a q-tip to clean it out.

It will prevent paint from getting into everything. And yes, paint will get into everything. But all you need to clean it is a can of air and a q-tip.

Also, cameras that are not environmentally sealed will be at risk for a fried board because of the paint.

My camera is sealed and built out of magnesium alloy, but I'm still gonna buy a rain cover for it.

The short answer is yes, absolutely.

However, I'm a bit apprehensive to paying $100 or more for a bit of nylon and plastic when I could achieve the same protection with a Hefty bag or two. If you have the money, or you intend to do a LOT of paintball photos, then yes.

I only play paintball so I can tell dirty jokes.
