Here are some general tips on how not to look like an idiot and piss everyone off =)

-Speak proper english, horribly butchering words pisses people off, if you do it on purpose it'll piss them off more.
-Don't post jibberish that is difficult to comprehend, that pisses people off even more, if you think it's funny, it isn't.
-Don't ever use 1337 speak, ever....
-Don't post threads about yourself, ever, in anyway shape or form
-Don't pick on people unless you know them well and know they can take it
-Never pick a fight with someone....just don't
-NEVER EVER USE ALL CAPS IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A DICK HOLE
-Don't say shit thinking everyone will take it as a joke, because they won't, if you want something to be taken as a joke it actually has to be funny, if you think it's funny and nobody else does it isn't funny, you just have a horrible sense of humour and everyone else finds you irritating.
-Never annoy the mods, or bug them too much about anything, they don't appreciate it and it'll make you look like a dumbass
-Don't go saying stupid shit to a more senior member, they've been here longer than you and have dealt with bullshit like yours before and will own you, on top of that if you're starting it you're in the wrong and the Mods will own you, on top of all of this most members with some seniority or a reputation here will have made ties with other users and often have them on MSN or AIM so guess what. They will instantly message a link to that thread saying to their buddy "Look at this dumbass" and now there will be numerous people owning you, when that 3rd party comes in to the topic whose side do you think they'll be on? not yours....
-Don't ever expect someone to discern what kind of statement you're getting across based on "tone" there is no tone on the internet


OH! I forgot one

Dont ever go and post a shit load text also known as a wall of text without useing any punctation or making a shitload ot spelling mistakes and typos without dixing them it pisses people off and makes it a pain toread if you want people to care about what it is that your saying then yo should at least make it seem like you give two shits about what it is that youre writing if you dont even car enough to properly spell words or use any punctuation or paragraphs what do you thinkt hat tells people about you? using no caps or punctuation is annoying and will make any wall of text like this one almost impossible to reas and peopl will just skip by it and dismiss it as total bullshit, dont go and use commas like i just did instead of periods because im currently writing a long assed run on sentence which will also cut down your credibility and peoples perception of you. It wont kill you to hit backspace and fix a typo or a word that is spelt wrong if you dont know how to spell something do yourself a favor and pull up an online dictionary and check. Hell even pull up google and type in the word incorrectly and search, when google pulls up the results it'll correct you at the top of the page.

See that? that was filled with grammatical errors, lacked capitalization and punctuation, on top of that it was also the starting of a wall of text which piss people off. I'm known for writing long posts, I can't help it I'm a very thorough person and rather than posting repeatedly to answer questions based on content I left out I include everything right there for the reader. I may post a lot of content but I use proper punctuation and I use paragraphs to break it up or else it's practically unreadable. I don't even know how many replies I've read 1/3 of the way in to get the jist of it then skip it over because it's a pain to read and I constantly lose my place. So overall, don't do that ^

Also when referring to someone do your best to properly spell their name, if it's their actual name, for instance, mine is Josh, do them the courtesy of capitalizing that first letter so you don't make them seem unimportant and insignificant.

-Too stupid, I'm sorry but learn how to fucking spell, a few errors, okay, 2nd grade communications aren't really welcome here
-Looking for attention
-Trying to piss people off

-Do not piss and moan about bullshit nobody really cares about, not necessarily a rule, just a valuable tidbit of advice.

-Do not post numerous venting/ranting threads about nonsense or childish bullshit. If you legitimately need to vent or rant 5-6 times in a period of 2 days you should be seeking some other help than the advice of strangers on an internet forum/community.

-Do not power post and try to come off as being "dominant" or superior to someone else. On top of this don't go around trying to contradict and put someone down just to make yourself look better.

-Do not play Moderator, staff members are appointed, you are not, know the boundaries and stay within them.

-Also, and very importantly, don't bait, troll and annoy the fuck out of dozens of people and then come pissing and moaning saying that people are flaming you. If 30 people on the forums think you're a little prick odds are that every single one of them doesn't have a problem, it's quite likely YOU.
