In gym we do fitness testing at the start and end of every year. We were doing pushups and situps a day ago. It was an audio tape that said when to go up/down. It had very slow reps. The max they let us do was 20 pushups and 70 crunches, I got 20/70 without an issue, the music stopped before me.

At my school the fitness testing is just beep test , 1 min push ups and plank plus some other training stuff .(In gr 10, I got ~9.5 on the beep test ( improved by 2 levels in a semester) , 45 push ups in 1 min ( improved by 20 in a semester) and a ~3 mins on plank ( in proved by 2 mins in a semester) and 130 skips in 1 min while weighing 200+ lbs
What type of conditioning are you doing for football?
Has your team done texas miles yet? hehe

In the beginning it was pretty much 2 1/2 hours of agility and conditioning.
Last year for fitness testing it was just how many pushups and situps in a minute, your mile time and the "Sit and Reach". There were starting to realize that most kids were doing neck pushups and pulling the ground for the situps, so they used the audio and watches us closely.
It used to really piss me off seeing some kid get 54 pushups in a minute and knowing they were just bobbing their head. Then they brag they got so many and everyone buys that shit. Then me and my friends who aren't strong (but stronger than him by far) get some low number.

Yeah it really bugs me when i see kids half ass pushups but I love it when those kids come to play football and get their asses kicked by the coach when they pull that shit

Fitness testing in gym today was total bs. We had to do pullups, if we couldn't do them, we used a power rack and layed down and did them. I could do 8 real pullups, I've worked hard to get there, I couldn't do 1 a year ago. Some kids were doing half-chin ups with an underhand grip.
The worst part is the teachers had students write down everything, they didn't ask if it was regular pull ups or the modified.
On a side note, I'm going to start adding AB workouts to my scedual. It can only help, especially in football. The one I'll be doing is perhaps the only good thing Scooby's workshop has produced. Pick a weight you can do 3-6 crunches with. Do this without stopping:
Crunches till failure @ 100% weight.
Bicycles till failure @ 100% weight.
Repeat both at 50% weight.
Repeat both with no weight.
3 sets, 5 minute break.
It feels like lava injected into your abs with lightheadedness and fatigue but it does work.

We are doing so much cardio in Football that I now have a pretty nice 6 pack, it actually looks like I worked really hard for it. I didn't lose weight so it is all good. On top of that I feel like my arms are much thicker.
In P.T. I've been doing stretches because part of why I hurt my knees is my hamstrings. They are dangerously tight, I used to be able to only reach mid way down my shin when stretching. It's getting much better.
In Football I've become much better overnight, I'm actually really good at blocking.
As far as physical health, it's improved 100% over the past month.

So I don't hurt my knees again I can't squat, haven't squared since the first week of football. I'm gonna start doing leg extensions/curls on my bench. Better than nothing.

Help
