That sounds like a great setup to move to. Other than that, make sure you've got a good quality mask.

You'll love that setpu as long as the mini fits you, it's a little small for some people so you may want to hold one and see how it feels. Also if you don't already, get a good mask. It is one of the essentials for a good setup. You can't mow faces if you can't see.

Thanks you guys I love the community support so far but I'm worried it will be too small I'm 6' 2" and pretty lanky but I live in Scranton pa so their are not a lot of places in my area to go, I may go to skirmish soon but $100 for a case is a bit much and I have a jt spectra mask right now I may upgrade later on

Is this a good setup? Don't tell me to use HPA because there are no places that fill up HPA near me.
Tippmann Carver One 79$
Proto Primo 15$
Co2 20oz 15$
Vforce Fieldvision 25$
This is the extent of my budget right now.
Also, what are eyes?

Setup is no better than a rental.

Eyes are two lasers that read across the breech (the part where a ball sits in-front of the bolt ready to be fired). One eye outputs the beam, another receives it, the marker wont fire unless no signal is received because in order for there to be nothing for the eye to detect a ball has to get in the way, so the gun knows theres a ball there. Having eyes means a gun is less likely to break paint, as it cant fire until a ball is loaded properly.

I just bought an empire 68/4500 tank on amazon.com and I brought it to get filled at my local field and they told me it was a low pressure tank he said he could tell because the bottom part of the regulator was blue, my new invert mini comes in the mail tomorrow but he said it won't work with the gun. Is he right and if so what tank should I buy that's high pressure how do I tell the difference online.

What he is saying is that the tank has a low pressure regulator. Would you please link the page where you bought the tank?

I show up at a field that I never been to before for some rec-play wearing cargo pants with a t-shirt....carrying a old mech Spyder and two pringle potato chip cans for pods shoved in the pants pockets. The stares are priceless and after the first game or so you get to see the grins from the ref and players who know....priceless.

Are you looking to see what brand tank you have? If it's about understanding the numbers on the tank, check out this thread. http://www.techpb.co...showtopic=80896

Thank you I'm just confused as to why the kid at my field thought that because the bottom half of my reg is blue that it would be low pressure output

Is it a lightish blue? Then it is in fact a low pressure output, which is probably sitting around 450 psi. It will still work on your Mini.

Hang on, I think I'm thinking of a different reg.

I have a light blue Pure Energy reg (same company, just under a different name), and it's a full HP output, so I'm pretty sure you have a regular HP reg.

Everyone has different preferences, but generally a lot of users here, including myself, do not recommend the Dangerous Power E1. (Some sample discussions are here and here)

The Spyder Sonix is probably about adequate to what you could get renting at most fields. Before you by your next marker, I'd recommend that you get the best possible mask first regardless of the price. The "best possible mask" is going to be one that fits you comfortably and does not fog. Good candidates would be the Vforce Grill and Profiler, JT Proflex, Sly Profit, Proto Pro Axis, Empire E-vents and E-flex, and Dye i4. Prices range from $60-110. It's highly recommended you try on masks at a pro shop or at your local field before you buy - everyone has certain preferences about what they do and don't like in masks.

Once you have a good mask, I would recommend you upgrade your hopper for your Spyder. Good choices are the Spyder Fasta 18v, Invert Too, and Valken V-max. They all run between $65 and $85. Better choices are the Dye Rotor, Pinokio Classic, and Empire Prophecy Z2. They are going to run between $130 and $190.

Next, I would upgrade your tank to a carbon fiber, XX/4500psi tank (where XX is the size, like the most commonly seen 68"). You're probably already using a tank with your Spyder Sonix, but a carbon fiber tank will decrease your marker weight, give you more air capacity for playing on, and have better resale value. You can buy them new for $150+ or get them used for around $100. A good used site for carbon fiber tanks is swapmytank.com.

I would only get a new marker after you've gotten the new mask, new hopper, and new tank. I'd also plan to spend at least $250 on a marker if you're looking at brand new markers. Don't rule out used markers if you're by now used to cleaning and maintaining your Spyder. You can get a lot nicer features for a discount price by purchasing a supergun from a few years past (like a Bob Long Alias, Dye DM8, PE Ego7, etc.).
