Shoreline Paintball have signed the contracts and license agreements to create the worlds first Paintball TV Channel. The new micro channel will begin to broadcast in October 2013 via BSkyB, Freesat and also Freeview. The television broadcast will be available in 42 countries across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and a global audience will also be able to view on demand via the internet.

The new channel will broadcast a range of content covering tournament, scenario and critically.....content specifically designed for rental players to drive new players in to local fields.

"The pilot series of our TV show was all about testing to see if there was a television audience for paintball content. Viewing figures of over 300,000 per episode exceeded all expectations and proved that audience exists so we will now build on that with the worlds first paintball micro channel broadcasting a range of content. The new channel is a tool for the entire paintball industry to use and I invite anyone who would like to be involved to get in touch."
Tim Barnett, Shoreline Events Ltd

Invitation packs will be sent out to potential content providers and paintball companies around the world in the next two weeks with announcements regarding the shows and content that viewers can expect to see to be released in due course.

Hmm, wonder how it will stay viable if it is a legit station. Here in the US, we lost printed magazines (yes, I know print is quickly losing ground). Hope for the best, but personally think it will be difficult to have daily quality content and keep the books out of the red.

This probably isn't going to last long. Broadcasting the language variety alone in Europe is going to be difficult alone. Not to mention attracting advertisers outside of the paintball industry. It would be a better idea to create a action sports channel with paintball TV shows.

I wouldn't quite jump to conclusions just yet. I believe they have finished the first season, and have renewed for two more and granted a larger budget, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

The problem is while smaller paintball companies can support a smaller broadcasting budget if the station doesn't start bringing in larger companies it won't stay on longer.

I wonder what would happen if they signed Mike to do their shows? Just a thought.

A weekly, hour and a half long show, is quite a bit different than 7 days, 16-24 hours of broadcasting. That's a lot of time to fill. I know nothing about what kind of contract they got, so I won't even speculate on that. To me it just seems like a giant leap to go from one show, to a whole channel in less then a year.

i cant help but wonder...
there isn't that much going on in the paintball world.
well not enough to fill a whole channel with decent content.

Though i want to see it succeed, I can't picture it doing all to well.

this seems a lot like how in the late 90's / early 2000's you used to be able to watch NPPL on like ESPN2 or something.
that didn't last too long
