im between the sly barrel kit and the switch kit for stiffi
im also considering the un1tec barrel kit
any suggestions

If your not afraid of spending some money get the sly. i have a sly and it never breaks balls. It also is the most accurate barrel on the market NO Exceptions!!!! all my friends complain about it being too accurate and so i have to use my 14" CP lol


but if you want to destroy every1.....get a sly.... after sly i would say the dye ultralight...and then the switch-kit

I realy like my sly kit. I seem to use it over all my other barrels UL, cp and stiffi. Its a bit steep on price but worth it imo.

I think you're over exaggerating.


The best thing you can get is a barrel that your can switch bores with, anything above that is bragging rights.

BUT I HAVE ALSO SHOT STIFFI , AND SLY IS A BETTER CARBON FIBER OPTION OVER STIFFI THOUGH , CUZ STIFFI STARTS SHREDDING SQUEEGEE'S AND THE HAIRS FROM IT GET STUCK N IMBEDED INSIDE THE BARREL ALMOST PERMANANTLY. All I know is that no matter what barrel I start playing with, I will always finish the night with my sly barrel on. For some reason, I truly notice fewer breaks with my sly. If I do get a break (it can happen...cold brittle paint etc..) in the sly, it only takes a couple at most 4 shots to get 90% of the pre-break shot consistency "accuracy" back (I am using accuracy very loosely with regard to painballs). Being able to shoot through a break with such ease is not something I can say about any of my other barrels. IMO, anything that allows you to stay in the game is worth its weight in gold (carbon fiber in this case).

Deadlywind Fibur!! I don't like the slys because they are 2 piece and the sizer part usually doesn't unscrew with the barrel and is a pain to get off. Deadlywind is cheaper and lighter and uses freak inserts which most people have anyway and is cheap to find second hand. Also the freak uses a ~6 inch control bore instead of a what looks like a 2 inch......

If it was a choice between stiffi and SLY I would vote sly, they just seem to be better quality. Not much I can justify that with though..... Stiffi seems to have improved their products and finally allow a squeegee to be used! So that's a good thing.

That is true about the sizer not unscrewing with the tip. I try to just grip the sizer and unscrew that to take off the entire barrel in one piece and just put that away. I only use one back anyways.

Yeah if you have an autococker it makes it very difficult to grab the back part as the pneumatics are in your way. I have seen a few sly barrels with the holes in the back which look like they are used to jam an Allen key through the hole to get the back off. Just seems like a bad idea to me??

Don't get me wrong I think SLY is one of the best barrels on the market today, I just like deadlywind better! :-)

Accuraccy comes from practice and consitancy in your grip and head position.
If all you had, as a barrel, was some piece of junk and you practice 4 days a week ....guess what ,you would start to get better with it!!
Now as for the value of a premium $$$$$
Carbon for Aluminum paintball barrel I'd say see Mikes video on the subjects.
Overboring or size matching......what works for you....knock yourself out.

Here, i'll PM you in 3 weeks (hopefully we will have our sly kits by then) and I have a stiffi switch kit right now. I'll tell you which one is better however, I will tell you the stiffi will be hard to beat.
