Picking up a pump as I played with one a while back and had a ball with it in a scenario game. I am big into Xball but on the woodsball side I enjoyed taking out my friends pump and I am picking up a Empire Sniper tomorrow but! It has no barrel.. so what should I go for? I have been told a 14" Apex can be wondrous in the big games once you get to know how to use it, is this true? I can just rock my Clone GT's barrel on it as a normal 14" that will soon be sized but I was just wondering what you guys' thought. Searched a ton and couldnt seem to get what I am looking for, sorry if its a repost! Thanks!

Right now im using a 14" that takes freak inserts on my stock class phantom.
When your one balling the freak kit really shines.

Since pumps operate with a closed bolt, you're going to want a tight-bore barrel to prevent the ball from simply rolling out anytime you lower the barrel.

As for the Apex, it's good for mechs and electros but not so much with pumps. The Apex works best with a shoot-and-adjust approach, which most pumps just don't have the fire-rate to do well enough on the field. I can see it working with rather slow-paced games, but it'll be pretty much useless on a pump with anything fast-paced.

For the barrel, if you can't afford a freak kit, then get one of the Lapco barrels. They come in really small bores(good for pumps so it prevents rollout), and I believe they sell for like $35-40.

Paintballgateway.com has the stock.barrel kits if you're looking for those, but why not get like a lurker or cp barrel so you can get several bores for pretty cheap

The apex barrel will not fit on the empire sniper. Nor will it fit on most pumps.

Get a small bore to avoid rollouts, as your barrel is your detent on a pump. I'd recommend a Lurker Eigenbarrel at $40 if you don't know where to look.

An apex is not going to work as well unless you are semi-auto as you cannot adjust. You want a predictable flight path when one balling.

any barrel would work, but I love my deadlywinds. I don't use it on my pump, I have a ccm kit for that, but I think it will work well for pump play. If you are dead set on an apex an ifit kit would prevent rollouts.
