Alright, so I've been out of the game, and off the forums for awhile. Recently I got back on to try and get rid of some of my old gear in the BST, and I encountered a phenomena that drives me insane. It's nothing new, it's been happening to me for as long as I've been on this forum. It's also not just a Techpb, or even paintball thing, because it's happened on other BST and similar things. This phenomena is something I like to call, BST Infidelity. It occurs when someone makes an offer on your BST thread. You're happy. You're all giddy cause you finally found that someone special that can give you exactly what you wanted, money. You quickly reply, and thus the relationship of the buyer and seller begins. Of course what you don't know is that this buyer isn't just your buyer... Oh no, this buyer's got other men in it's life. Now I understand the concept of trying to make multiple offers, hoping that one won't fall through, but to me, once the seller has replied, it's the beginning of the deal. I would understand if at that moment the buyer said "Oh sorry, I bought another gun" or something along those lines. But again, the buyer has a mistress. He keeps working out a deal with you, and the other buyer, but he can only get one gun. Eventually he'll have to pick which one to go with, which often involves totally ignoring the gun he has chosen to forgo. This is the crushing moment of the infidelity. The days of potential bumping, that may have attracted a serious, honest, and loyal buyer can never be recovered. All you can do is pick up the pieces and hope that the next buyer is more faithful. So what do you guys think? Real problem? Piss you off? Or am I crazy? Maybe you're a former victim of a unfaithful buyer. Maybe you are one yourself. Discuss.

This was a good read. But yeah, I know what you mean. Craigslist is the definitive place to find "BST Infidelity".

I know the feel, this happened to me multiple times over the past few weeks and it's very frustrating. I was trying to sell a Vice and kept on getting "Flakers" Finally I had a guy commit. It seems to be the older crowd that doesn't screw around as much.

I myself hate this but I did do this 2 or 3 times due to financial reasons.

I've been there, the thing is a lot of times I end up backing out because I decided I no longer want to buy a gun or that specific part. So it seems like I'm being a flake when in reality I just changed my mind

I don't mind it as much when someone backs out. It's when they back out without even saying anything that ticks me off.

I sold a gun once, the guy sends me the 400 or whatever quid, then the next day sends me a message saying "loljk I got bills to pay, gonna need that back".

I was like, "Enjoy the gun mofo".

I've had that happen before. Sounds like a scam if you ask me.

Being a teenager, I need parent's permission to ship anything above like 100. so for future reference, I don't generally want to back out, but sometimes parents get in the way for us younger folk.

I know how this feels because it happens to me so much! But I do it myself from time to time so I can't really say much.

Just for future reference, I'm one of you young folk. I'm 17, and I've been selling stuff online since I was 15. I had to ask permission to ship anything, except my kidney...

I've never had to get permission to ship anything? Idk, my parents are pretty cool with me buying whatever I want. It's my money so they dont care lol.

I dont think I have ever backed out of a deal that I said that I was going to buy it. Now I have told people that I am looking for something and I didnt like their prices so I just didn't really respond. I believe that before you message/post on a thread (depending on what sites you are on) you should be confident that you can buy it.

I'm a straight forward buyer. If you have something I like and I have the money I will buy it then. Although when I am in need of something I go with the first person to respond even though the other person has a lower price. Hence the one time I didn't go through with a purchase. Oh bye bye cool CF tank and nice buyer, although I did help to get his thread to the top of the list.

What you may not realize is regardless of it being your money, you are still under the age of 18. In the eyes of the law you are still considered a minor and your parents will be held responsible, in only extreme cases will a minor be tried as an adult. They are doing a good job in keeping track of what you do because they probably want to ensure that they are bringing you up properly even if you do not think so. So next time you feel that your parents "don't get it", perhaps you should thank them for caring about you and wanting to be involved with your life.
