Okay are you ready for another radical new twist for Viper’s annual “Texas Revolution” event at TXR Paintball?

This year we bring you “Tech Wars.” Based in the future, corporations are now the governments. Without politics to get in their way these corporations have decimated the Earth’s resources. Fossil fuels, minerals, even agricultural lands are virtually unusable. As resources ran out the corporations raced to get off the planet in order to mine (pillage) other nearby moons and planets to feed their fight for ultimate control of Earth.

Ultimately they all chose the most promising planets and moons, and so the battle spilled out into space as many of them landed on the same celestial bodies. They built enormous machines with which to fight on the ground for the resources that they so badly needed back on Earth. These machines imposing machines can only be described as gigantic robots with rocket pods, guns, lasers, and more and they are piloted by skilled men and women who are very much like their earlier counterparts, jet-fighter pilots, including all of their confidence and bravado. These “BattleMechs” are a full three stories tall and armed with enough weaponry to level a city.

How will we do this at T-Rev you ask? With the help of “MechCorps” and their amazing, computerized battle pods. They will be bringing eight of these amazing machines to the game. These pods take electronic gaming to a whole new level. Sealed inside you are totally immersed in the experience of piloting your own “BattleMech” as you and your teammates face your enemies in a battle where scale is measured in miles…not yards.

The MechCorps battle pods will be arriving at TXR Paintball on Friday. Friday night players will be able to play BattleTech matches free of charge to acquaint themselves with the system.

The pods will be closed until game on at noon Saturday. Beginning at 12:30pm registered T-Rev players will battle in the MechCorps BattleTech pods every fifteen minutes (free of charge). Victories yield resources for your commander allowing him to purchase things that will help them with their battle on the field including extra MOS and supply cards, aircraft, and fuel.

We will also allow six players from each side to build their own mini-mech bodies (think small Star Wars AT-AT). These will be treated as tanks. They will need fuel to operate and must be taken out by Nerf rounds or Satchel Charges. If you are interested in doing so contact your commander for details. Commanders will submit the list of mini-mech players.

So there you have it! Viper’s Texas Revolution 2013: Tech Wars

More storyline details will be released as they become available. If you want to learn more about MechCorps and BattleTech visit http://www.MechCorps.com. If you are in Houston you can even visit MechCorps and learn to pilot a BattleMech before the event!

Pumped for this. I will be able to play it or Ref. it (proud employee at TXR Paintball!) Either way this will be a blast and I can tell it will already be just as good as or better than the last one!

I see First Strike is a sponsor. Does that mean anybody can use them, or is this only for the "registered snipers" like was posted last year?
And how does the 26-hour thing work? Is everybody playing and on the field for 26 hours?

Firstly, I believe you misunderstood last year's "First Strike Snipers." These were simply two players who were set up with a Tiberius marker and FS rounds and given a special set of missions. First Strikes weren't limited last year. Anyone could use them, just as at all of my events. Secondly, the game starts noon Saturday and goes until 2pm Sunday with a 1.5 hour break at dinner and a standown at night (around 10 or 11 pm) until restart at 9am Sunday morning. Commanders get mission packets every thirty minutes. Most of these have three two-part missions in them. When you are eliminated you can either return to your hospital (near you side's HQ) and wait for the respawn that comes every ten minutes, or you can take a break and then return to your hospital for respawn when you are ready to play again.

Nope. Prepaying for paint is simply offered as a convenience. It also saves you a lot of time at the event.

Want to and trying to. I love paint ball and I love the Mech Pods. So it is putting two things a Love together. I am trying to budget for a hotel. If I can't afford a hotel that would mean driving all the way to League City on the other side of town to sleep. I also have one other complication. My daughter has gotten hooked on paintball. So I have trying to budget for 2. I am 80% sure I will go.

Yea I would like her to go I think she would make a good medic. Because she seems to be almost always one of the last ones shot out of games. I think that would be an important qualification for a medic. Her going just doubles the cost of everything. But I think her going would make it a lot more fun

You know it would. It might even be a game changer.
