The main issues Mike has with the OT Clubs is the hassles and the constant cliques and issues they have with each other. It almost got to the point of where there was like little gangs and if you said anything to one of them they would call the club and everyone in the club would attach. We would get 10+ complaints at a time over the bickering and fighting amongst the clubs. So avoid the bickering and the constant BS involved, the masses suffered once again from a few.

This site is to help and try to get along. If you do not like someone just avoid them it is easy on the internet, but it seems much easier to start a stupid flame war over something. So if the clubs required to have baby sitters he became the baby sitter. And as we can all see, he is not the person you want as the baby sitter in that sense.

I will admit the majority of the clubs were not issues. It was a few that ruined it for the masses. So take note and I'm sure there will be plenty of finger pointing and claims of innocence or he started BS. So look at yourself and figure out if you were a problem or a solution. If you were a problem become a solution. If your a solution there is nothing to change. If you do not know how to be a solution, let m give you a few tips. If you see something that you consider flaming or do not agree with, you have 2 choices to be a solution, report the post and leave it at that, or just walk away and not get involved and allow the members that causes the issue get caught and be punished. but if you respond and flame back, you are nothing more than part of the problem. So to punish the real trouble maker, we have to punish the defenders and so called Hero (self proclaimed of course)

So that covers it. Sorry it had to happen, but the mods are not here full-time or getting paid to have to constantly tending to a few clubs causing problems and if you select the few clubs all that happens is they start another. So to try and seal the deal he has decided everyone pays for the mistakes. We want a different environment and community. It takes effort from everyone to make a difference. But all you can do is try to be a solution and not a problem.

Will they be back? *stern voice*

It can go either way. We decide. I'm sure we would all like clubs back but as a community can we make it work enough not to start shit up again?

The reason why I closed the off-topic clubs is because I'm tired of dealing with the fucking babysitting

I'm a paintball player, I'm trying to grow my website, I'm trying to focus on big picture things to help my website and community grow. I don't have the time, resources or manpower to babysit a bunch of fucking idiots who contribute NOTHING to this community (hence, it's off topic), yet take up 90% of our resources here on the website.

The off topic is supposed to be a retreat, a place where people visit OCCASIONALLY to talk about some things that are outside of paintball. Talk about cars, computers, school, shopping, fun stuff. It's not a place for a bunch of fucking assholes to join a "club", then launch a coordinated attack against another club or individual.

"Gee Mike, it sure seems like you guys have really slacked on the videos lately", yea because when you are babysitting a bunch of immature morons who think this website is their fucking toilet for them to shit on, it takes time and energy away from doing REAL work such as creating PAINTBALL RELATED CONTENT that helps the sport and this website grow.

You act like adults, we treat you like adults. You act like idiots, we treat you like idiots.

We still haven't cleaned up the mess from the last "boil-over" in the off-topic clubs, but believe me, we're discussing the details in the staff forum and don't be surprised if 30+ people aren't banned by the weekend.

Take a look at your profile, if the majority of your posts are in "off topic", I could give a shit if you were banned or not. Off topic doesn't help my sport or my site grow, so the minute you become a pain in the ass, you're gone

That's what we are determining in the staff lounge. People who spend the majority of their time in the paintball section, will be getting more slack than people who spend most of their time in off topic.

Most of mine are in the Member Club Section, phew!

Mike - Not trying to start shit here, I'm just asking - If we WEREN'T fighting in the OT, but we still spend a lot of time on there, as far as I see it's helping the community grow. Maybe not paintball-wise, but we're becoming better friends and forming bonds.

That should tell you something, If you don't want OT then delete the entire section.

I'm restraining so hard here... Feels like my head's gonna explode. But I suppose pissing Mike off would be the absolute worst thing to do right now.

Ideally there is only so much paintball stuff I want to talk about, and only so much that people actually want to hear.

Trust me, when you talk about it all the time people who are not like minded individuals get sick and tired of it really quickly. Sick and tired.

I like the OT section because aside from being with like minded individuals, I can have a casual conversation without the topic devolving into:

"Bitch please, the sweep valve totally works."

or

"Hey guize I just bought mah LUXE and I tink it's teh gretest gun evar. Do u agree?"

There is strength in the OT Section. I'm sorry that the staff here doesn't appreciate what potential and camaraderie the OT Section brings to the site overall. There are bad apples, punish those people.

I look to the CBC as an example. Things were great and then the club got out of hand. We got sorted out and have since posted over 700 (Over 9000 posts!) pages of dialogue and fun was had by all. We even started accepting people that weren't Canadian (because we're cool that way).

I think closing them was right, but now there is another shit storm of complaints. This really is a paintball forum, guys. But I have to say, if you want to grow a website, you have to deal with the people who fuck everything up.
