So I'm supposed to be going paintballing on Sunday but from what I see its going to be really windy. Online it says 17-25 mph winds with gusts up to 39 mph, at 32 degrees high. Anyone have any experience playing in windy weather like that? Rather not waste a day of paintballing because the wind is taking my shots everywhere. Is it worth it?

It's suppose to be windy here in oklahoma too, but the high is like 67, so I can't miss it. No Day is a waste!

I will play paintball in any kind of weather.
I hate, I mean I HATE playing paintball when it's super windy. Why? Because you simply can not hit shit! Every time you shoot a paintball it gets blown a different directions.
It's fine in mild winds but I just can't play in high winds.

10-20 mph winds with gusts in the 20's is everyday weather for me since I live fairly close to the beach. It's not that bad, the worst is rain. I've had balls corkscrew and crap with rain, wind it just throws your shots off a little.

I hate anything more than a slight breeze, because you have to account for the shot spread if the paint is shitty too.

It's going to depend on how accurate the weather says its going to be. Sometimes I plan on going and it says its a 50% chance of rain and it ended up not raining. It says its going to be windy tonight where I live so ill judge how accurate it is later

Except you're going to be hitting your teammates.

I've come to realize ill be shooting a case of paint and most likely hit nothing.......however that will go the same for the opposite team. Plenty of opportunity to practice moving closer and flanking......all in all ill be going for the thrill!

depends in the play too

woodsball you can get away with it because the trees with cut the wind down quite a bit

Airball? Not so much, the wind will blow everything over, blow out the nets, and just cause havoc

Most field operators won't put up fields when the winds are going to be crazy, sometimes they don't even put up the nets

So can you play? Yea I guess, but if the wind keeps everyone at home, you may not have anyone to play AGAINST

Thanks for the input mike. I hit up my field about it and they are still going to be open. They're expecting a big group as well. My paintball field, OTP for anyone in NJ, just put up a new turf field and Dye is supporting them for it. So dye is allowing people to use their new DM13's, Reflexes, and the new DAM out on the field. Which that to me lol literally would pull in a crowd regardless of how the wind is. At least in theory it should

Playing woodsball in the wind is ok when you remember that everybody has the same handicap. People that can lane or ramp have an advantage of adjusting their shots (tracking) better but it's expensive.

I tend to have more fun when playing in garbage weather. Playing in heavy rain is usually one of my favorite times to play.
