Should I get a pm8 for 250 or a DM12 for around 500 dollars?
I'm not super concerned about money, I can afford the DM12 I just want to know if it's worth it.
Thank you!

Essentially, the only difference between the two will be the extras, like fit'n'finish, whether you like eye covers or an eye pipe, different triggers, etc. Personally, I'd go with the PM8 just because it's cheaper.

i predict that after this post, you'll get 10 guys in here who've never actually owned a matrix saying to get the pm8 because its "the best gun dye ever made".
the pm8, for some odd reason, has a lot of hype on techpb and i simply dont understand why.

heres my take on it after owning more DM's and PM's than most people have owned guns.
go with the DM12. as of right now, thats the dye gun to own if you're looking for a newer DM.
You'll get Dye most up to date ergos along with the tool-less bolt and updated parts. Personally, i think the DM9 is the "sweet spot" as far as value goes. they retail for roughly $350, but if you're finding a DM12 for $500 thats a great deal.

the pm8 is a fine gun, but its not AMAZING. it has the dm9 bolt kit, but not the internal milling that the dm9 does. it has an LPR that can be a pain to adjust, still has the 12" proto barrel, and imo, looks goofy as hell.

if you want a matrix on the cheaper end of the scale, a DM8 or DM9 will serve you better.

Which appeals to you more: great value for low-end money, or a premium gun for mid-end money? I love my PM8, but at $500, you'd be getting a great deal on the DM12, and the DM will have four years fewer cycles on the solenoid. (And the ribbon eyes and LPR on the PM are kind of a pain...)

Thanks for the fast replies,
To clarify a pm8 is around 200-250 on ebay, a dm12 is 550-900,
I am willing to wait for dm12's to drop to a comfortable 500-600 dollars.
I have a Proto reflex rail 2011 right now so I'm in no big hurry, I just wanted to know if dm12's are worth the extra money
which it sounds like they are.

Thanks everybody!

See, I prefer the DM11, as I like gloss finishes... and besides that the only difference between it and the 12 is the tool less bolt removal. Using an allen key is far from difficult lol

i have a pm8 and love it. Picked mine up for $200. so to me it is amazing compared to the minis and the I owned. I know the Pm8 uses basically the same bolt and uses the same regulator, so its personal preference. For me personally i will never spend more than 400 on a marker so the pm8 is great for me.
