Why only 32-bit?

My computer is only letting me download 32-bit java,which blows for minecraft.I want 64-bit so it doesn't lag as much.
And btw,its a dell from 2004,which might be part of the problem.Usually dell+2004 technology= :tdn:

you need 64 bit operating system.

You get the version of Java that is compatible with your system.

Yeah everyone pretty much said it. It is very very rare to find a pre-built PC that has a 64-Bit OS and 4GB of ram or under.
