Ray, assuming both have the correct burst discs for the tank, is it safe to put a Ninja 3000psi reg on a 4500psi tank, and a 4500psi reg on a 3000psi tank?

Thanks.

Yes it would be safe, assuming you have the proper burst discs. However, the 3k reg has 3000psi lasered on it, and the 4.5k reg has 4500psi lasered on it, so getting one filled at a field or pro shop would be hard, because they'd go by what the reg says, and not what the burst discs say.

tk is correct but we do not recommend this due to the confusion and the potential danger if a mistake is made. <br>

Got my Ninja SLP :D

Just wondering what preperation I should do to the reg before I put it on the tank...

1. Should I wipe off the reg to tank threads to make sure theres no grease on?
2. If I were to accidentally touch the reg to ASA threads, then touch the reg to tank threads, is that enough to be dangerous?
3. What tool do I use to torque it down?

Thanks.

1. yes - clean threads are better than dirty threads
2.not sure what you mean? if you are saying screw the reg into the asa incorrectly i do not think this is possible
3. check with your local pro shop

Oh sorry should have been more specific. I mean the threads on the reg that go into the tank, does even the tinyest speck of grease spell disaster?

...Another thing I remembered, is Blue Loctite sufficient on the reg to tank threading?
