Question 1: What category would people with e-grips on Tippmann's be in if it's set to semi? Would it be RT Mechanical or Mechanical?

Question 2: Can people enter in more than 1 category?

egrips are electro.

enter as many catagories and entries as you want.

That would be mech

looks like I need to source a mech front block for my sinper so I can destroy the mech, if I could actually feed paint at 80+ bps.

that would be an rt, much like a reflex kit cocker.

the reason for the chrono is to make sure that no one is just getting there gun to cycle fast. if you don't have a chrono, the perfect place to film your video is your local feild after/before a day of play. use tehre chrono!
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

I think the lower limit on the speed in unnecessary. (mostly because my Maverick only chronos about 240)

Damn. Given about two more weeks instead of one I might have had the mechanical badge locked down. Still having problems with what I've got right now. Lucky for the rest of you guys dry firing doesn't count.

this is an ongoing contest. The first round of judging will be November 1st. After that entries can come at any point.

Cool. Just to be clear, what would count in the non-R/T mechanical class? Is that basically all there is to it? Any mechanical marker that doesn't use a system to reset the trigger after every shot? Is bouncing allowed in any class?

non RT mechanical guns mean you have to pull the trigger for each shot. all mecahnical guns use a mechaincal system to reset after the shot - but guns like the RTmag, Tippmanns with RT grips and reflex cockers can effectively be sweetspotted where you don't pull the trigger - the trigger just bounces off your finger to cycle the gun. Those are RT guns.

what do you mean by trigger bouncing? In electros yes, bounce is fine. In the RT class - yes bounce is fine. In mechanical and pump I don't know what bounce would be.

Thanks, that's what I was asking. My understanding though was that the difference between a response trigger and a regular mechanical trigger was that a response trigger actively returned the trigger to the initial position after the firing process rather than simply let a spring mechanism return the trigger. Was that wrong?

my standard mag and my cocker both actively return the trigger - the mag using air pressure and the cocker using springs. They just don't do it hard enough to RT. Does that make sense? It's a fine line, I know - but I guess the RT effect is the only real difference.

I'm not super familiar with the Phenom - but I think that may use air pressure to return the trigger when in mech mode - as does the Epic - but neither of those RT either.
