will 50 cal paintball ever take over the market and be the main paintball size and if this ever does happen will the make upgrade kits for our modern guns to shoot 50 caliber balls cuz i dont wanna have to drop another $500 or so bucks on a gun cuz the paintballs keep getter smaller they need to maintain one solid uniform size

doubt it, there's too many guns built for .68 for it to be feasible

i think it will become bigger as time goes on. I can see fields switching to .50 cal guns for rentals and stuff, but i dont think they will get rid of .68. .50 is just better to get new player in the sport. They wont hurt as much when you get hit with them, and its a lot cheaper.

No, .50 cal will not take over. If anything, it will be an option, but .68 cal will always reign supreme. The major problem with .50 cal, is there is so little mass, people don't feel hits most of the time, and I believe that that alone will cause it to not be as big as .68 cal, since the majority of players want their opponents to go out, when they've been marked. And I've seen players practically throwing actual tantrums if someone doesn't go out the instant they've been hit. So people want their opponents to know when they've been hit, and you don't really get that with .50 cal.

I can't picture it happening. Too many 68 caliber markers and equipment in the market. Financially I don't think that the majority of players could afford a sudden switch.

I wish paintballs would grow in size instead of shrink. When was the last time you saw a true .68 paintball? Very few paintballs i have come across have stuck in my .685 barrel, most roll though.

No, I do not think that .50 will ever become the standard. It may become more and more prevalent but I doubt it will become the standard for open play or tournaments.

50 cal conversion kits for hoppers and guns are the only way it will be used. Most of us including you, will not spend for another gun, and even then most people wont use it.
So no, it wont take over...

If it was a true .68 cal paintball, then it'd roll through all barrels, except .680 and smaller. ;)

Nope. The paintball universe is already well established upon .68, and companies make more money making .68 than .50
I only play paintball so I can tell dirty jokes.
