legit. I need to pick up some new grips. And probably whole new bike next year. Looking for something along the lines of an old Norco 6-2 or Aline. That way i can DJ with it fine here, and still go out and do some DH a few times a year and not have to rent.

Just got back from Dirt Jumping. Made a fairly legit jump. Only about 4 feet tall and 7 feet long, and about 40 degrees. It was launching me and a few friends 15-20 feet so it was purdy legit.

Might be upgrading to a Trek 4300 next month. Hydraulic disc brakes, 27 speed, 18.5" frame... Much better than my Diamondback...

You usually have to put something solid inside the dirt so it holds the shape more, something like a log or a wooden pallet. Maybe your little brother..

So, I royally fucked my Diamondback this past weekend. Managed to bend my highest chain ring gear, bend the front fork, pop a tube, and bend my rear derailer. Took it into the local bike shop yesterday to have them replace everything with some road friendly stuff. It will now be a rigid, single speed, cruiser/commuter bike. 32-14 gearing with 1.5" road tires, Avid brake levers with updated Tektro V brakes.

On the other hand, Im trading my Viking for an 07 Iron Horse Sunday Team edition DH bike, which I will (rather unwisely) be using as my trail bike. 45lbs, with 8 inches of travel on both ends. Climbs are going to be absolute hell..

Just started to ride bmx. I only got a mirraco fivestar intro but its better than a wal mart mongoose and it has a three piece crank. Only problem is I can't ride for another two weeks. I got mono and my spleen is inflamed.

Also you guys got any recommendations for tires and pedals? Currently got cst cyclops tires and they seem to work good unless I go to a park with that weird steel ramp material.

I am still trying to figure out what bike to get. Hit and miss really, so I can't be too picky. Although, it needs to be able to do some jumps, without breaking the cranks like I did on my last bike Posted Image

Lookin' for my next mtb. for $400 or under. Used that is.

Suggestions all around?

Specialized Hardrock Comps could be found for about that much. Depending on the jumps, they might be a little weak, though. They are mostly XC bikes. Best bet is to find a 24" BMX/DJ bike. Those are usually cheaper and stronger than regular MTB's..

I just need it to withstand jumps, I mostly trail ride. Thats the issue Posted Image

EDIT: might just replace a few parts on whatever I get. Make it more suitable for jumpin'
