No idea. I went from an E1 to a T-board, so I have no experience with a cocker Tadao.

I'm trying to take photos to capture the depth and design of the milling but it's pretty difficult on a black marker. It's VERY reminiscent of PE's milling from the DC's/Nexus guns.
To be honest if I could get milling like that in a cocker body I'd do it. Don't care for the JOrr stuff, or any of WGP's milling for that matter. I'd rather go JMJ Featherlight before I'd go WGP.
ugh how could you not love the karni, orry, vertebrate?
jmj is still sexy though. I love plainness as much as extensiveness if not more, round body merlin hell yes.

But thats why I like oldschool markers, its a bit different, its classy, its special and you go against the boring mainstream flow. but even that Im a cocker fanatic, I really dig when people play with their old Intimidators, vintage DMs, Automags etc, its just much more cooler than the average guy with their newer Egos or DMs..
But thats just my opinion.
And peoples only excuse when it comes the old markers its they are big and heavy, but for fuck sake, dont be a sissy boy, we are not going around with Colt M4 or HK G3 rifles here, its a fucking paintball marker for crying out loud!
Just my 2 cents.

i dont like cookie cutter guns... and while some cockers in my mind are cookie cutter guns (most of WGPs stuff) i will still still shoot them over todays stuff, simply because it has more character...

Karni's not bad, but its theme is incomplete. Cool scales on the back, cool scales on the bottom... but then it's just "blah autococker" on the rest. Why stop there? I think BL did a much better job creating an organic theme with the Dragon Timmys, Ripper, etc. Vert's are meh - the bone structure milling doesn't fit the idea of a marker, or the flow of the autococker. They just put bones on the side with very little rhyme/reason. It's like a kindergartner with crayons just slapped some on there because they thought it would look cool. Orry's are bland, and I'm not a fan of full-body cockers in general. Midblock/halfblock to me is a much smarter design.
See the thing is that I'm a cocker fan, but I'm pragmatic about it. I prefer function over raw form. I didn't get a BM body because I like Black Magics or BM Milling. I got one because it was the cheapest factory mid-block body available.

I don't like the Shocktech SFL. It's screems "NIKE" in your face with that massive shocktech logo across the whole side of the body. The milling isn't even all that novel - it's a minor side cut with the logo CNC'd in. Same with the E-series SFL too. Fireball Mountain did WAY more novel work with their sleeved work liek the Cobra bodies. DC2 milling is clean, but even that's not very daring or innovative. The JMJ featherlite is a novel concept because they took it down to the minimum - nothing more than what you need to make it work, and that's a badass idea.

Don't take this personally but, come off it - DC2's are every bit as snobbish as a CSL, minus the practicality of using it in a modern tournament setting. People who are hating on Egos because everyone else is using one... that's every bit as silly as skinny-jean girl-pants wearing emo hipsters bitching about bands nobody's heard of while they sip free-trade vegan coffee on their fixie bikes. Getting elitist about a DC2 over a CSL is snobbish for snobbery's sake. Also frankly, the eye logic is shit on any of the stock cocker boards. Not as shitty as a cocker T-board, but you can't deny that ROF capping an E2 is still an exercise in crippling the firing cycle so that it will stay under the ROF cap instead of a true ROF cap like on modern boards.

Yep, I have a very similar story to you - my first highend was a L7 automag. I shoot cockers because they're fun to use, and fun to tinker with, but if I actually want to spend all day playing without caring I have no qualms about taking the cocker and stuffing it back in my gun bag to pull out something more bulletproof. Oddly enough I find that my DM7 has always been more reliable and easier on paint than my Egos in the past. I've owned enough e-cockers to know that they eventually eat parts in ways that no other marker does. (Pump arms, rams, bolt pins etc.)
I bought a CSL because I can, and because like Jack Wood said it's the first time where there's nothing else to "upgrade." Not the ASA, not the board, not the barrel kit... And I can appreciate that. IMHO the CSL is the top of the tech curve for stacked-tube poppets, with the design concept taking reliability and tune-ability into consideration while also retaining the ability to be the highest performing (raw speed) marker it can. I mean, other than price, can you really find any faults with the design and features of an Ego 11 or CSL?

Such a cool idea. It's a shame that he did them so recklessly. Rumor is that he was practically doing them on a table saw... no measurements at all.

and nicely put CL... i agree with all that you said about the CSL and the ego11, its not the milling that bothers me, or the price, its mostly the colors that PE chose this year... yes, the milling isnt the bes ti have seen, but it works for the body, and looks light as hell.... but the colors jsut turn me off on it completly... but, i like how Jack and PE have said its a choice....

Unless there's some feature you want like self-cleaning eyes, all you need is a modern board that can be programmed to conform to whatever rules you're playing with. I think that past 2006/2007 the markers definitely plateaued in how fast the new tech and new innovations came. Past 2007 the newer tech moved in much smaller steps, like the Ego Star bolt -> Cure bolt was a huge change, but cure -> c2 -> c3 was much more subtle. Same with the DM self-cleaning eyes. DM5->dm6 was revolutionary, and again dm6 -> dm7, but dm7 -> dm8 -> dm9 ->dm10 the changes in the eye pipe were minimal, and mostly changed how the detent system worked.
