well on pbn, james said that taking the dwell to 14 is a viable solution for some velocity issues until the gt breaks in.

I think that just might be the case here: break in issues.

Also there's talk about pinched orings on the solenoid, but your marker wouldn't fire if that was the case.

makin me nervous! lol
what's all of this noise about the shoot down? I've read something about faulty seals in the solenoid and the regulators needing to be broken in.
anyway... 7-9 days until my Clone GT reaches Florida!

It's more or less issues w/ the first batches of GT's, which shouldn't be suprising given the nature of the company.

The noise from the shootdown comes with the fact that some gt's have velocity issues after being'd chrono'd. Everything looks good for the first few shoots, then you experience severe dropoff in the low 100's fps.

Some say just break it in more, change the dwell or slightly increase the velocity. In extreme cases, the solenoid oring might be pinched due to manufacturing issues (nothing too concrete on this yet) but the results would be easily noticiable if that were the case. You would have to *shudder* contact macdev CS.

Bourke, on the other hand, has been trying to bring macdev's CS up to speed. I think someone on macdevmilitia.com might help get you in touch w/ him.

yah ill just keep firing it at 14-16 on dwell until it breaks in properly.

im not playing in my tournament on 4/29.. but i'll try to sneak in some game time this weekend to break it in further. all part of being a "first batch" owner. LOL

to me it sounds like the springs in the regulators aren't being worn in... that would account for having to turn your velocity screw up to achieve the same operating pressure/velocity

Ah the beauty of bein a "first batch" owner

We can say we took one for the team ;) :D

And yeah being worn in is pretty much the theme going on right now.

It's one of the main reasons why macdev overlubes from the factroy; they want us to wear it in so a thin lube sticks to the annodizing, causing it to be relubed in smaller amounts.

i plan on breaking my Clone GT in with the factory lube, but is there any reason not to use Monkey Poo once that has been done?

Oldballer on the nation compared the two types of militia lube and preferred the darker version. He stated that he would use the brown version over anything else but since the white lube was included, he was switching to monkey poo.

Lesson of the day. Buy a CloneGT.. Mow faces for 4 cases... THEN maintain it. :)

(feels so smart for sticking with the VX for now and not dealing with Macdev first release)
Anyways does the VX and GT shoot differently? Also are the ergos that much better?

not by much, slightly quieter and smoother is the general consensus. and easier on paint.
most people seem to think the ergos are a big step in the right direction

ergos is such a big enough improvement for me, im willing to deal with first batch "headaches" :)

Yeah I also have to agree w/ hebiki. I was a non-believer at first, but as I keep shooting it, the GT is worth dealing w/ the first batch headaches.

i relubed the HPR...got it on there nice and thick.. zero'ed it out.. when i get home i'll do a few more test shots with the dwell at 12. if im no where near 300 without backing the screw out so far.... im just gonna zero it out again, put it at 14-15 for dwell..and let it be. :)

i guess im just bored and wanna tinker. :)

so you're not able to reach 300 fps without raising your dwell???

Celebrating your birthday this many times makes me feel nostalgic.

That said, the feel of the GT satisfies it for now.

nope.. i had to back out the HPR screw pretty far.

right now im right around 270-280... the HPR is 2 complete turns backed out from zero......and dwell is at 15ms. i'll leave it like this and run 2-3 cases through it before i try to lower the dwell again. funny thing is... its still smooth :)
