I agree with you in spirit, but in the game, I think the bolt actions are fine. As for the shotguns, they probably wanted to get the weapons in there without having to deal with too many loadouts. It is the beta, after all.

i haven't used a bot action yet, but that is what i usually prefer.

I just got done playing a game and got killed by the SVD about 6 times and all i hear in my turtle beaches before i die is about 4 or 5 rapid snipers shots Posted Image. And who knows on the 870 i know alot of the unlocked guns can be used in all classes for example i use my PP2000 in the recon class, fuck sniping

well i just played my first ever battle field game, i like the game alot even though its still in beta but im kinda confussed on how you get the weapons because ive been a CODer all my life :unsure:

When you first start out, you have a very limited selection of guns. As you level up, you earn guns in the load out you use to level up.

The shotgun gets unlocked for all classes at some rank, sort of like pistols but primary.

There are a number of all kit unlocks.

Right now I'm really enjoying the 416 as it's become so perfect for a number of situations. Semi for super long, 3 round burst for medium, and full auto for in your face. :tup:

Sadly, I recently bought Dead Island, and it has kinda pushed the BF3 beta out of the way for the time being, but I will definitely be in on the main game. Or, maybe Dead Island will get old and I'll get back on the beta, who knows?

I popped into a hacked/modded server on the PC unwittingly, and it unlocked everything. Everything. It pushed me up to rank 145 (even though the top rank is 100), and now I get to play with all the guns. Well...most of them. There are some that should be unlocked, but still aren't. I guess they never counted on people being able to get to a certain level in the beta and just omitted them.

It's all fun and games, except that apparently EA and DICE have decided to go full retard over the "problem" and threaten to ban Origin accounts for joining these servers. That means that people won't be able to play any EA game on their PC anymore; even ones they've already bought and paid for. Ugh. Obviously, I'm hoping that they come to their senses and call off this ridiculous threat - especially considering that these servers can be joined accidentally with the Quick Match button. It'd be a fucking shame to ban hundreds of players just for being curious.

There are a number of weapons and gadgets that aren't in the beta at all, one of them being the Mortar if I recall.

As for the highest level idea, so far I've seen a 54 on the 360 version... Someone has alot of time.

Playing WW1-style with bolt-action rifles and iron sights is fun. Me and Ced were also strapping C4 to the MAV and buzz-bombing people for a while last night, too. Damn, I REALLY want to see what that mortar is like. Will it be just a glorified grenade launcher, or will it be like the old self-propelled artillery from 1942, where somebody would have to spot a target for you, and then you could zoom in on that area and start bombing it? ...I suspect it'll be the former, though. <_<
