I think they need to go back to how they used to do it, where they'd give you a test to see if you were qualified for the job, and you didn't need a degree so long as you were qualified and could do the work.

However, people threw fits, claimed it was mean to people to do that, because then the unqualified people couldn't get the job, so now they've changed it to the current way, where you basically can't get a good job without a college degree.

Yeah, especially when the job market is so bad where I used to live in Illinois, you basically needed a college degree to work at Walmart, because so many people were out of work, that the educated people would take any job they wanted. And places like McDonalds know that, generally, the people who are applying there, with a college degree, are trying to scrounge for pennies to support their family, so they're much more likely to work their asses off and do a good job, then some random kid without a degree, who's only making money for himself while he lives at home.
