Logitech speakers are definitely great! I bought the Z2300 when they just came out and they still work and sound pretty great. Only downside is I have to fiddle with the power button from time to time because the button is a little loose and won't play sound.

I can also play testimony that the Bose desktop 2.1 speakers aren't as great. My brother and I once compared the Z2300 (years ago) with the Bose companion speakers from that year and they sound just about the same with the Logitech one's having a slight edge. So yeah if you're comparing computer speakers then from experience Logitech beats Bose. No idea if Bose has improved their speakers though...

any 2.1 system you can control the sub. either on the controller, or on the back of the sub.
