I just want some input on whether or not I should invest in 50 cal for LL5. If so should i get a 50 cal gun or just get the conversion kit for my ego?

I would get the conversion kit. Why buy a whole new gin when you can just get the conversion kit? And then you could get a pinokio and convert it to 50 cal. And then you have the added benefit of a larger capacity loader for 50 cal, with a loader that can use 50 or 68 cal balls.

If I ever go 50 cal, I would get an Ego 7 or Ego 8 and just get the conversion kit. No point in getting a seperate dedicated .50 Cal marker.

I will most likely get the conversion kit and use 50 cal at LL5 because i am a suppressive fire kind of player and i want a nice light set up that allows me to shoot a ton of paint

You lose about ten feet, I have a nano but I don't ussually notice it cause am usualy very close to my oponents. But the capacity and the stelth of it is worth it. I say stelth because the nano is super quiet idk about the convertion kits never used one.

I dont have a .50 cal marker anymore to compare...but from what I remember it seemed like I lost quite a bit more range than 10 feet The balls also seemed to kinda float out to that range and not hit with much force. You might encounter a problem with bounces, especially in the may heat.

they do hit with less force it felt like 10 to 15 feet but i didn't really measure it, i didn't have that much of a problem with bounces since i live in a colder area. i will say that its not meant to be used as a long shot marker you should be focused on closed target and supressive fire. ive taken a lot of people out with the .50 cal i love it, but its not for everyone and its not for every situation for the opening charge it will be perfect.

IMO, .50 cal is great for times like the final battle and opening charge, when you need unending fire with lots of suppressing ability. Normal gameplay suffers too much from the lack of performance compared to .68 cal when you don't need to be on the trigger straight for minutes at a time.

hmmm, odd. The one we had (granted it was a prototype from PE) jammed when we tried it on an 8. When did the offset feedneck happen on the Egos?

Please please please don't use them from the back on the hill battles. I usually get shot as much by the people who think they're shooting over the hill - drop the range of the gun and it'll just be worse. Unless you're at the bottom of the hill your paint is landing on your guys.

Right i was thinking it would be perfect for the opening charge and final battle. My playing style is not super aggressive but i am by no means someone who sits in the back. I guarantee for final battle i will be on the hill for the most part.
