There are few things more irritating than this

You are playing at an event and in the middle of making a big move when someone on your side, or the other side, does something that disrupts everything because they don't know the rules. The refs stop everything and try and fix the problem, but it's too late, and your big move was ripped away from you.

Don't be that guy! Know the rules. Take a look now while you have plenty of time. Get to know them. Make a copy and bring it with you. Don't be the guy who screws up everyone's good time because you didn't take a few minutes and read.

You can find the rules here.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, or clear up anything that you aren't sure about. But let's do this now so no one ruins a hundred peoples' fun at the event.

I'm studying the rules, and I'm noting references to locations.

Is there a field map available for us yet?

It's been on on www.livinglegendsofpaintball.com since the site was launched weeks ago.

Click "2012 Intel" and then "Field Map."

Be sure and click some of the other things offered on the site. You might just find some other useful information. ;)

That's weird, these rules are almost 100% identical to a large local scenario near me. Are scenario rules usually based on this or something?

As the second-oldest national scenario production company in the USA a lot of ideas that are seen as "just part of scenario" are actually things pioneered by me, or by Wayne Dollack, but they have become so integral that people don't realize where they came from.

For instance, I see pictures of my "slap sticks" at fields across the country. Players come to my events and experience them, and then go home and tell their home field about them.

I was also the first to have an organized and orchestrated "Final Battle" which has become popular at many events.

I also co-authored the now-outdated "General Scenario Rules of Play" so there are similarities there as well. They haven't been updated/edited in years, but people still use them because it's easier than writing their own.

This is kinda a rules question.

I know only the trimming of fins is allowed on the rockets but would painting them be considered a rule violation? Most of the ones Im finding are brown and would be difficult to locate in the woods. I wouldnt think it would add a significant amount of weight to make them fly any different. Another possible "mod" would be to wrap the flourescent duct tape on the tail to make it more visible.

Painting is fine. I've also heard of attaching a small piece of survey tape like a tail, which would be allowed as well.

alright I never been to LL. saw the videos on techpb and such amazing btw. I really want to go but have a limited budget. the only problem i have is the paint cost. i am a little confused about it. Can you bring your own paint? or do you have to spend 75 dollars for each case? at my local field pay 40 dollars and 75 dollars is a pretty big difference? but just wondering because i couldn't find it on the rules.

The simplest answer is that "amazing" costs money. If you look at the fields and facilities at CPX Sports, including the half-million dollar town of "Bedlam" and the more than four acres of concrete parking like at the mall. They run two custom buses as trams to take you to the insertion points. There will be over 75 trained referees on staff.

There's a difference between going to a traveling parking lot carnival and going to Disney World, and you can tell which one you're at when you pay admission. As far as paintball is concerned...CPX Sports is Disney World.

But, to answer your question, if you check out the rules link at the top of this thread it specifically states that the event is "event paint only." Sorry.

I know this post is off topic. But I thought my excitement level was already off the charts but when I just read that my excitement level sky rocketed.

like viper said, your paying to play at a world class event at a world class field ran by a world class promoter. you are also shooting evil paint, which retails for around $75 anyway. people fly from europe, canada, and many other places around the world just to go to this event. its worth the money

Viper, when I read your "Disney World" comment, a sudden flash of Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Minnie and all the other Disney characters battling it out at the Magic Kingdom flashed through my head....

I think this graveyard shift is getting to me xD.
