Hebiki's Showdown is back by popular demand!

Today I'll be comparing the drivetrains for the CloneVX and the CloneGT.
Special thanks to H2Oman251083 for lending me his CloneVX in order to do this comparison.

Enjoy! (Check out my youtube channel for a shooting video of the CloneGT:) )

VX

[ weight ] 815g

8 1/2" [ length w/o barrel (approx.) ] 8 7/8"

Notes: CloneVX might be slightly underweight due to the panel grips and different trigger. But probably not enough of a difference to matter.

Very nice!!!! You're making the two weeks I have to wait for my GT very painful. Please stop antagonizing me with pictures!
Just kidding, keep the pictures rolling. How much of a difference does that Critical trigger make???

i have a 10 gallon tub of Militia Lube I got from costco. :)

(thats surprisingly LESS than the amount of lube that was on the VX when I first bought it brand new :P )

Looks like everything is a bit larger, which IIRC, makes for a slightly smoother shot.

The camera makes any oily surfaces shine which makes em appear shiner, giving the appearance of alot of lube.
I'd say its a generous amount. But not globs of it on.

Im being nice when I say Generous.

From what I recall, macdev overlubes their makers anytime they leave the factory NIB. It was one of the reasons people were having slight problems w/ their dx's earlier. It's kinda funny since macdev markers work better w/o such a generous amount.

Nah, every manufacturer overlubes their guns from the factory. Dye destroys their guns, macdev, vanguard, bob long...just a few NIB guns I had from those companies I know cake it.

And some guns require that...NOT lol

Anyways the cores look very similar. I'd say the shaft being cut, and the milled out back part of the can may get 5% more air in for lower pressure and a softer shot. But probably undecipherable. Maybe the slightly different valve won't waste as much air and we'll see efficiency gains.

^half speculation and half hope :D

wow, from the pictures the VX and GT Drive train really doesn't look too different.

That will be nice for Clone owners, because their will that many more years of o-ring kits for them...

Hebiki do both markers use the same amount and size of o-rings?

IIRC, they changed the size of some o-rings to more standard sizes.

well if the sizes for the Valve keg, and Bolt kegs are the same, only thing that I could wish stayed the same was the powertube mid o-ring stay the same, those are those most problematic o-rings on the VX and with them all but area staying the same, Still I'm happy.

With some of the minor details between the GT and VX I will love to find me a used Clone for 500 and then VX it and have a sweet shooter for a fraction of the price.

Why pay 500 for a Clone, and then VX it, (gonna cost you 200+ dollars, plus I think the feedneck attachment needs to be modified) when you can just buy a VX for 700...
