Now I've seen the videos on barrel boring and I get it completely. And I often use my friend's RT ULE custom with a stiffi .689 barrel. I noticed the consistancy on it. But what's so wrong about underboring? I'm currently using a Disruptive 1-piece barrel and it is exceptionally quiet, though I don't know why people are indirectly saying that underboring is bad. How so?

Underboring isn't bad. People just go along with the common assumption that squeezing a seemingly solid ball through a hole that is smaller in diameter than the ball itself will cause the ball to break. But it's not true. There is absolutely nothing wrong with underboring. Unless of course your paints at something like .690 and you're trying to bore at .670.

I think it comes down to whether you want to spend any time thinking about your barrel. If you shoot a stock barrel, you don't really have to think about it. A .690 will accommodate pretty much any paint you're likely to encounter, and it will shoot OK. Underboring requires a bit more thought and effort, because if you're running a small bore barrel, you'll have issues if you run into big, swollen, or misshapen paint. You probably need another insert or a second barrel if you want to be safe. The performance benefits of underboring are relatively small (except for pumps, of course), so I think some people don't think it's worth the hassle.

Fix

Underboreing is inconsistent as fu** especially with co2 (not that I've tried )
