Don't get me wrong though, of the main RAM brands, there are much better than GSkill. Corsair being one of the 2 I'd highly recommend.

Ones I always always recomend are corsair, hingston, muskin and patriot.
Usually I say, go with these brands, and pick whatever looks best, since all the RAM produced by these companies are practically equal

I've had the best luck with Corsair ram. Other brands I have tried wouldn't read correctly in POST, and I would have to get into BIOS and change the timings to get them to function right. A Patriot kit I had a while back had to be knocked down 3 points on all the timings to get it running right. But for some reason, any stick of Corsair I try will read first time on any mobo I stick it in.

I have always bought Corsair, but every once and a while, I pick something else up. Gskill has worked out well for my wife's computers, but OCZ has fucked me hard, several times. Every kit I have bought of OCZ gold has either been DOA, or ended up with massive memory errors with memtest within a few months. I even bought an OCZ Platinum kit when I first got to Texas in 2009, and one stick crapped out on me within two months. Fuck that. I have bought at least 20 sticks of Corsair, and never had issues. And my Corsair PSUs have always been awesome. Then even come in a nice little carrying bag, although I am not sure what that is supposed to be used for, lol.

Oh, and for the record:

Favorites:

CPU: Intel. Overclocking heaven.
GPU: Nvidia, just because the old days of ATi left a bad taste in my mouth. Specifically EVGA GPUs.
PSU: Corsair
Tower: Cooler Master
CPU Fan: Zalman
RAM: Corsair
Motherboard: Gigabyte
Keyboard: Saitek
Mouse: Saitek (now MadCats, I suppose, since they took over the Cyborg line)

From what i'm hearing AMD is doing excellent to the ATI line after they took it over, you might want to check it out. Everything on here is exactly what I like, except razer > all for keyboard and mouse. ;)

The problem before (about 4-5 years ago) was that their Catalyst drivers were crap. Every other game that I played had issues. And everything seems to be optimized for Nvidia. It seemed like every game that I really wanted to play had some sort of Catalyst driver issue. So yeah, I just never went back.

And no, Razer mice are not better than Cyborg mice. :) The only thing that could possibly beat out my RAT 7 is a RAT 9, and the wing button from my original Cyborg is SORELY missed. My wife uses Razer, and I am not a fan. Keyboards mean nothing to me, really, since I game with a Cyborg Command Unit.

MadCatz is usually a really bad sign. Everything that I have owned by them has been crap. (usually for consoles) But they absorbed the Cyborg brand, and I am quite happy with my RAT 7. I cannot stand a mouse that doesnt have a wing on it.

A wing? What is this that you speak of ? A friend of mine has a Rat 5 and his mouse doesn't have a wing. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just genuinely no idea what you're talking about..Posted Image

All RATs have a wing that your thumb sits on. And the RAT 7 and 9 (maybe 5, but I think only 7 and 9) come with an accessories pack, which will net you a pinky wing as well.

Really, that's pretty sweet. I need to upgrade from my old G500, all the rubber grips are coming off. :(

I'm debating on whether to get the R.A.T 7 or the M.M.O 7, its a tough choice. Also, getting a gaming keypad would be sick to have but the only one ive found is the razer.

I dont see why people want a gaming keyboard. Limited hotkeys, which are in out of the way places, and you still have to use up most of your fingers for WASD. Gamepads like the n52, Cyborg Command Unit, and G13 are where it is at. Tons of hotkeys, everything right there, and a thumbstick to eliminate the WASD, and leave all your fingers for hotkeying.

Also, I just checked out the MMO 7, and that would be my choice. I didnt even know that they released it. Anyway, the sniper button on the RAT series is way too far forward, so it is hard to push, plus it is small. Fixed on the MMO 7. Plus, the MMO 7 brings back the wing button which I miss SOOOOOOOO badly from my old Cyborg mouse. I bound jump to it, so I would just tap my thumb for jumping. I ended up giving up my "internet forward" button for jump, and lost out on my old "instant cast interrupt" button due to that. MMO 7 is very similar to the RAT 7, but the new button layout is awesome. Now I want one... :(

But then wouldnt you have to have both your keypad and your keyboard plugged in? Just seems like wasted space. Also, Cyborg command unit isnt sold anymore...

Yes, you have both plugged in. I keep my Cyborg Command Unit at the top left, and use a Razer Goliathus Extended XL mousepad. More than long enough so that I get soft coverage on both sides of my keyboard, and it lets me keep my left arm nicely outstretched. And a bit of wasted space is SO worth it for an analog stick.

Hm interesting. I might try out the razer nostromo and see how that goes. Ive always favored razer as far as gaming equipment though but i guess it wouldnt hurt to check out what logitech has, if they still have em though.

Yeah, the G13 is still around. But it is a good chunk more expensive, and I think it is a bit too large. Back when I bought my Cyborg Command Unit (at least 4 years ago) the n52 was still made by Belkin, and it was a POS. I dont think it had an analog back then either, it was a D-pad. But the Razer one is fairly nice, although I will be using my CCU until it dies.

I just looked at the g13 and it looks more refined than the razer one. Also, the LED display is really nice. But for almost $30, the question is, is it worth it? I looked at the CCU and it looked tight, wish i would be able to get one of those.
