This was my first trip to PBE. A group of friends invited me up and the field looked awesome from the Internet. Played for the Allies

The staff was friendly, but most of the time if you'd ask 3 people a question, you'd get 3 different answers. When you arrive onsite just after gates open, register, get paint, and setup ready to go by game on, only to have to wait at a chrono line that only has 2 refs sucks. Safety brief went a little long, but whatever there were a lot of newer players.
The fields look awesome. Was looking forward to playing them all, not just one little corner. Guess I didn't get the memo to play for the Axis. There was so much field that didn't get played all day, HUGE let down. I was in high spirits still, figured we'd switch spawn points after the lunch break. NOPE! Any other big games switch the spawn points mid day or day 2 if it's a multiday event.
Kept getting the vibe that nobody cared what was going on as long as they were selling paint. The paint shot well and I was using .689 + bores for a nice change. Also a nice addition was the gun techs on hand. Very nice and helpful. Air stations all over that filled 4500 all day was great.
Hearing about all the fist fights, watching obvious playing on, (with paint on them, not just going out on a bounce), having a general that didn't even know the next mission, and just poor organization of this event has really left a bad taste in my mouth about PBE. The field has potential, but no organization.
Viva La CPX, still king of the big game in Chicago.
