So I've got a mech Ion which I absolutely love, and a suggestion in the Hoseless Hustlers got me thinking. Because it's a mech, there's nothing in the grip frame, and I've got a WGP Tickler that I'm not using currently (part of my Impulse build that's on the back burner). That by itself probably wouldn't have sparked my full interest, but then I decided to put my 09 Impulse's ASA on the gun, and lo and behold, it uses standard direct mount ASA screws and placement.

So right now I've got the hole drilled and tapped for the Tickler in the frame, and now I'm just waiting for some end mills to come in so I can clean off the bottom of the Ion ASA and make a counterbore for the o-ring that will seal between the frame and ASA, since the frame on the Ion has a chamfered edge all the way around, and won't seal properly as it is. I'll take the banjo fitting off the front of the frame and attach it to the Tickler, but to do that I'll have to mill out some of the frame, so that's another step that I have to wait on the mail for. I tested the Tickler, and it takes my 850ish input just fine and tops out at 210 psi, so it'll be perfect for the Ion.

the dragunfly LPRs are smaller, and also hold up better to high pressure tanks. Palmers are for sure, but dragunfly actually did a decent job on the LPRs

So are you saying the Tickler won't work? Cause I'm not buying a new LPR if I don't have to. Besides, I already tested it on my HP tank, and it worked fine.

but never count out a Palmers Rock Regulator as well, they might be able to fit properly and you could run one of the Valve Hoses through it as well.

Yeah, I was looking at that, but the Tickler already fits fine, and I can already put a banjo on it so I don't have to worry about barbs. Essentially, I have all the parts, I'm just waiting on tools to finish machining the frame.

okay maybe my little gears in my head are moving a little to much, I wonder if you could some how implement a Level 7 bolt system, you need someway to bleed the air, but it would stop any chance of chopping from a Short stroke...

just an idea.

I actually just finished milling out the frame, I was gonna assemble and test tomorrow, but I'll see if I can get her up and running (mostly) tonight.
