They did not set out with intentions of making a paintball to be more accurate. Their manufacturing process should lend to very consistent paintballs without a big raised seam, two factors in accuracy. Whether or not they actually are able to do that when they start mass production remains to be seen.

mmm still concerned about the weight ...
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

How many lots have you sampled so far? Also, which direction is it going: too dense or not dense enough?

I don't think that these will break down fast enough to be used at busy fields or in big games. Can you imagine the final battle at Living Legends after half a summers worth of shells on the pavement?

Also, I can second the stance that they don't taste bad. It's definitely not a good flavor, but it's not bad.

Liked the vid skeletor. Two things kind of concern me... but maybe I just dont remember things right. But, weren't these supposed to be harder to wipe? I saw in the vid you got the fill on your glove and it seemed to wipe right off. And second thing was... I thought these were supposed to be even better at breaking down and or better for the environment???

He's referring to the published data so far (both from the manufacturer, and from one or two individuals) that show the relatively light weigh t of these rounds. The lighter weight detracts from their ballistic performance.

I don't recall any advertising points claiming 'hard to wipe' but, I specifically remember hydrotec's video showing how easy it was to wipe off of a goggle.

From what I saw, the shells were pretty strong. I ran it across my arm, and it didn't actually scratch me, but it left some marks. I also saw a couple of skips across concrete/asphalt.

There may have been a few bounces off of a wall, too. I'm not too sure about that one though.

they dont seem to dissolve easy so that could make for a messy field and worse environment.

I see two ways this can go:
1. Hydrotec revolutionizes the industry making paint cheaper, and more available therefore increasing the amount of people playing.
2. It has a short lived life (like fifty cal.) and fizzes out.

weight has a direct correlation for consistency/accuracy , correct?

Isn't the paint supposed to evaporate though? At least that is what hydrotec claimed.

The actual paint, yes. The shell, not so much.

I just thought I remembered it from a thread some where in chat. It was probably just speculation or something.

After seeing Necro's video, I now know why it curves so much. They should fill the entire shell with paint. Definitely hoping they fix that.

Amen. I was suprised to see that it actually had air inside at all, im hoping that is just a first generation bug. Im speculating that the air bubble varies in size and is the cause of the weight difference in that small sample.

From what they've shown of the manufacturing process, they make two trays of the shell material with half the shell molded, fill the half shells with paint, then I'm assuming they seal the trays together and cut out the paintballs. If there's an air bubble, then it sounds like an issue with the filling machines. I'm hoping it was just a hiccup, since in the video it certainly looks like there shouldn't be any air pockets at all.
