Uhhh... I'm confused then on what you're looking for. You don't really need codenames for anything other than bunker names

lol well do you get the idea?basically just codenames for different situations such as me going up to bunker a guy. I am not going to yell out "I'M GOING TO GO BUNKER THE GUY AT THE BACK LEFT AZTEC SO COVER ME!"

I actually have trouble with this. I get so caught up and focused on what im doing I end up staying silent the entire game or saying very little which tends to be a bad this any tips on that for people answering this thread?

yeah I have the exact same problem. I hammer it in my head that I will talk, but when the horn sounds I totally forget. I try during practice, but the same thing happens. I even forget to yell out lots of times.

I don't have experience with tournament play or tactics but in team play video games such as counterstrike where I used to have to communicate with my team, we'd just call out things as we observed them. So don't try to communicate something that you're not focused on. As you focus on something, vocalize whatever is going through your head. I guess an example of that would be if you're in right side snake and shift your field of vision toward someone in back left, vocalize that since that's what you're focusing on anyway, then once you switch back to the mirrored snake for example you can then call out s1 or s2 and your team will then have position of two players just by you yelling out what you're focusing on. Communicating the most basic thing such as what you're focusing on and what they are doing is better than you focusing on it and not communicating it to your team at all.

TL;DR Just think aloud. At least call out what you're focusing on if you can't multitask and call out things outside of your field of vision.

Just talk to your teammates like you normally would except louder and more to the point. For example I play the snake. What I talk to my teammates I don't yell but I clearly ask whatever it is I'm asking loud enough whoever I'm talking to will hear me even if he's shooting. I would say "Home is on me hard" "What do we got?" "Can I move up?" "I'm going to get that guy". Now my team kinda knows what I mean this for for example when I say I'm going to get that guy generally I'm going to bunker my mirror and my back player better dang well put a lane down on somebody so I survive. Don't worry about code. It's hard to remember and the other team isn't usually going to be listening to you.

I'll try to help you out. I kinda think I know what you're asking.

First you have bunker calls. Which includes your Back Left, Home, God, D1, S1, etc. Bunker names change team to team. Try not to go crazy at first, we usually stick to what other teams we practice with use, just to make it easier during practice to help each other.

Then some teams have movement calls. Usually this is to help distinguish your coach and teammates from people on the sidelines yelling and counter-coaching. That way someone on the sideline isn't telling you to bunker someone when it isn't clear. You have a specific call for your coach to yell when he wants you to do that. Your teammates use these calls too so the other team doesn't know what your instructing. Instead of yelling hey bunker him. You yell, idk, "Go Fish" or "Flash" or something, whatever your codenames are. Some teams usually have a go bunker call. A move up to the next bunker call. Someone is coming to bunker u call. You can get as creative as possible, get code names for whatever you think you should have a call for. I know we have calls that I know other teams do not have calls for that we find are important to keep to us.


Letting your teammates know who is shooting at you is good to communicate to your teammates. If it is a 3v2 situation for example. Your team has 3 and the other has 2. If both your teammates say they have someone shooting them, you know they cant possibly see you and you can move. Etc. Just talk about what you see. Dorito 1 moved to dorito 2. Corner is shooting inside at me, doritio 2 is shooting tape... Left corner and home are crossed up, Temple is holding the snake lane. Stuff like that.

Letting your teammates know how much paint you have left if you're running low, if you're breaking paint and you need to clean your barrel. Just let them know what you're doing, what you see, what you need, what you're trying to do..

This is all just intel your passing throughout your team on the field, and it helps a lot. But mainly it is your codenames/bunker calls, then as the game goes on and lasts longer and pace slows down, more of those little things matter.

Disagree when you're playing xball or raceto4+ you definitely start to catch onto their codenames later on in the match. And if you're playing a series, you get used to them during the series in later tournaments you can figure out exactly what theyre saying. And when you hear them call the wrong bunkers out/one you're not in. You know you can smoke someone And you know if you hear them yell their bunker call you can usually catch them good.

An important one is a codename/play for when you have only 2 players left and need to cross up your guns. My team uses "Iowa"

its general practice at my local tourney field that the codename Honeybadger is used when you are the last player left alive.

Sometimes, when we're doing bait n' switch plays in woodsball, I yell "Chicken in the coop" when they fell for the trap.

I think it would work fine in speedball as well.

Also just talk to your team what works best for you guys, unless this is recplay. then you really have no choice.
