Yes its been awhile. Yes, I need to get back into PC. I will do so on the 15th of this month.

I just wanted to post up my latest and greatest FSR platform. Project would not have been completed if I wasn't luck to get a R7, win the "Wheel of Fortune", had some of these parts that I have been hoarding for years waiting on the right platform and Chris / Alpha434's help on MCB to help execute these ideas. Project initially started when I first saw a "naked" R7 and began wondering what it might look like if I added an Aimtech inspired grip/rail to it. It later morphed into a platform that I can not only use FS on but also a way to capture FS eliminations which is something that is difficult to do given the trajectory and white color of the round and the distance of the target. This video capture part I am still tinkering (I have the pieces or most of the pieces) with as my alignment is a bit off. Add the Magnifi apparatus and mix in a Megatron (G1 inspired) / Transformer theme and you get this. Behold!

I still need to make some other adjustments to the Magnifi, internal tuning and other stuff to complete the theme of the marker but you can get a good sense as to what the project looks like.

@ Tick

Lol. It's not for sale. If I ever sell this it would be the last marker I sell and I would be officially quitting paintball.

Question. Is that one of the silencers alpha was working on on that gun or is that just for looks? If it is the silencer, how well does it work?

Nope, this is not one of Alpha's prototypes. This is a Carter 1.50" OD Whoosh on a WGP tactical barrel. Its a raincover  . I do have some of Alpha's acoustic dampening padding in there vs the brillo pad that comes with a Whoosh. Whether or not that actually works or how well it works, I have no scientific proof to back that up. I can say that it is quiet (or it sounds like a loud spit wad).

The R7 in general has a somewhat "soft" sound signature, IMO. I can tell you that when I was tuning this marker, there was a noticeable difference between the stock barrel and the Whoosh. But the comparison is not apples to apples as the stock barrel is unported and ~5" in length compared to a 14" ported, raincovered barrel.

Best case, it keeps the barrel somewhat try. Worst case, it adds to the overall look and feel of the theme/project.

Were those gripfrails made specifically for this application or are they adapted from something else? They seem to bulge out a bit more than is necessary for the R7.

They were made specifically (from scratch) for this application. The only bulge you see are a thin pair of rubber grips below the grip-rail to help maintain the integrity of the body of the marker from friction/bumps/wear and tear from playing. To me they are very comfy (as-is) and holding the marker in your hands you barely notice this "bulge". So much so, I am actually getting some custom anso grips to put over (middle part) of the rail to protect the rail. Do I need to? No. But I want to protect the grip-rail too as its one of a kind.

Edit: Do you mean the bulge at the top of the marker? If so, that was intentional. The idea here was not to tap the marker for rails untop (tapping the grip was fine). I plan to run it eventually with a duck box set-up and well the internal and stuff are housed there. So in order to preserve again the integrity of the marker, it was decided to attach the grip-rail via the grip screws, clear the body of the marker and fixate so that it would be strong enough to hold optics or whatever ontop there. It is rock solid with absolutely no swivel or side play. The "bulge" actually have another unintended purpose. I can also look straight down the barrel to make closer proximity shots, if I need to. So I can easily for from scope to no scope very easily.

Here is where the inspiration for it came from:

Except, this is a one-sided mount where as I wanted it to be dual-sided.

Build of the marker or rail? Marker, check avratech.com. Grip-rail, pm Chris Logan above. Basically, (within reason) he can replicate this for almost any marker that has grip screws in them.
