Empire sniper problem

Airs up fine, no leaks. The gun wont shoot over
230 fps. I look at the gauge and its passed 300 it looks
As if it would be at 500 psi.... am i supposed to be
Using a low pressure tank?? i set the psi to 200 i shoot
A couple times then it dropped to 100 psi by itself.
Any ideas?

make sure the HPR is screwed completely together and the IVG is set at about all the way out and use the .675 bore, then set the HPR to 225 psi and see where it shoots, if it keeps changing take the set screw out put some blue loc-tite on it and set it to 220 psi or whatever it is stock i can't remember off the top of my head.

Put it on a real pressure tester, the gauges that empire uses are less than below quality.

Just curious, did you read the instructions on setting your velocity? You don't set it with the reg like an electro. Set the HPR to 225 and use the IVG to get the velocity you want. Just asking because you don't mention anything about adjusting the IVG in the OP. If the HPR pressure is not staying consistent, use Demons advice.

sweet spot, theres a certain point where increasing reg pressure will lower you velocity, they recommend 225 psi, try that and adjust the IVG (clockwise+ counterclockwise-)

Autocockers have to run at the right pressure and sweet-spotting your regulator is an important step in tuning your Sniper into the face-painter you are looking for. Sweet-spotting will take only about 15-30 minutes. When you are done, your Sniper will shoot quieter, more efficently and consistently.

To start you will need a place to shoot, some paint, Allen keys, a Chronograph and some air. If you field has a Chrono station/ range, it is a great place to do this tuning.

Start by turning your IVG (Internal Velocity Govenor or the velocity adjuster on the back of the frame) open up until it is loose, then give it one turn in.

Next turn your regulator all the way closed, not tight, just until it touches, then open it up 1turn.

Gas your gun, shoot three shots over the Chronograph. Now adjusting the regulator 1/2 turn at a time continue this process, your velocity will go up and up and up....then down. When it starts going down, fine tune your regulator until you reach maximum velocity. At that point your regulator is sweet-spotted.

Now your velocity should be high, too high - now use your IVG to adjust your velocity down to your field limit. When you change paint, conditions change or use a different barrel back, only use the IVG to adjust your FPS.

After you shoot a few cases and get your regulator broken-in, re-check your sweet-spot. At this point, you should not need to mess with it for a long time.

the empire snipers generally sweet spot at 225 to 230 psi just set it to factory and use it, no need to go into sweet spotting if he can't understand just getting it to shoot 280 in the first place.

My sniper is set at about 225 psi on the gauge, my ivg is cranked in about 3 or 4 turns. It right at 285.

Also, the auto trigger does need some timing, but it isn't 100% necessary
