Holy shit, a new valve, is Bob feeling ok?

New milling looks pretty nice, wouldn't enjoy cleaning it though. This thing must shoot amazing for it to be worth going to a spool system, considering how good Marqs already shot.

i wouldn't think bob would do a dump valve. It would be easier but doubt bob long would put his name on it.

well the design would likely involve an LPR because the victory already has one and putting an engine that doesn't use an LPR in a gun that has an LPR seems wastefull

Just because it would have a dump valve doesnt mean that it wont use the LPR. Look at the Quest.

Glad to see it's backwards compatible and he's not forcing people with older vics to upgrade to a new marker.

According to tim2thousand4 on PBnation it's a dump valve. It is Bob long though, so I don't think it will dissapoint.

this was also posted, "Bob confirmed 1000-1100 shots @ 299-304 fps yesterday in testing. No broken balls." So judging by this statement it's definatly not the most efficient spool valve ever made. I'm sure it shoots good though, plus victories feel great in the hands, so I think it will be nice regardless. If you don't like it you can always put the original engine in it too

So it shoots about 800 shots?

Although I have not seen the engine itself, being that it is a dump valve with a stemmed bolt guide that also uses an LPR, I am betting good money that it is very similar to the Quest's bolt engine in function. Seeing as the HPR pressure is identical to the poppet version of the engine, I am also going to assume that this means that the dump chamber is the same volume as the poppet version. This makes me think that efficiency can be improved with some sort of spacer or insert system to reduce the volume. I have a feeling that they wanted to keep the dump chamber the same size, so that switching out the engines wouldnt require re-testing the pressures. (or at least keeping it to just a small adjustment)

That said, it is anyone's guess, I suppose. Time will show. But I was already assuming that it was a dump valve, and seeing how much "Bob" there was in the Quest, I dont think that it is too far fetched to assume that the new engine might take ques from that design.

How did you get 800 from 1000-1100?

The dump chamber size isn't really relevant to cyclic pressure though. They just needed to design the size of the sail and various surfaces to work will with the same LPR pressure as the poppet shaft. The size of the dump chamber will play more into how much room they have to work with the valve dynamics.

Probably just taking the under on Bob's estimate.

Well Bob claims 3k off the G6R, it gets closer to 1800 on a good day. Going off that this probably gets 600.

well, the revi does shoot like shit...

i am interested in this not becuase fo the spool valve engine, but because of the new milling... i like it... if the spool were more efficient, like 1500 shots, i would be more impressed... but, i am sure that 6-8 months after its release we will see an SC'd version of the spool engine that will be more efficient
