Hey, I basically just sold about everything I own that I dont use. And surprisingly I ended up with about $1200. I want a good marker set up and maybe some extra cash to buy little things with or to go and play at a field. Any one got some good marker set ups I could do with $1200?

If you already have the basics (Mask, Clothing Etc) You can get yourself a BL Vice and be able to order a nice tank and hopper with around 150-200$ left over depending on what you get.

I want vice for 550 lol.... :( and also that just makes it better for you, makes it around 400$ you would have left over.

DM9. Why not?

By marker setup, do you mean that you need a tank and hopper as well?

Yea I do like the Vice but when I put an Ego in my hands there is just no competition in the feel. I mean the Ego is small, light, and the Vice looks a lot taller then Ego's.

If I get a DM9 what would I do about a tank and hopper? My paintball shop wouldnt drop the DM9 low enough for me to get a carbon fiber tank and hopper.

I can get all of those a lot cheaper at the store near me. I get the 08 Ego for $650 used which I dont mind used guns as long as they are in good condition. I am looking for a stubby tank because I am only 14 and I am like 5'3. And I can get the Rotor for $120

a backup for an ego is a little useless

egos are extremely reliable

Who said something about a backup gun? I am talking about my main marker and marker set up.

Yep just realized that by gun setup you meant hopper and tank as well.

It would be a good idea to look for a marker from last year, because it will be just as good as this years, but will save you enough money so that you can get a loader and a tank as well.

That is a good idea. They make little adjustments and shave off a few more ounces but its basically the same gun as long as they are a year apart. Like you cant compare an 05 to an 09 or 08. But that is a smart idea, is the DM8 better then an 08 Ego?

Depends what you like. What kind of guns have you had in the past, and what did you think of them?

I dont really like Marq's. And Shooptek I had an Ion, Mini, PMR, Etek2 and now I want a light small High End Tournament Marker. I like good light, small, effecient, quiet, skinny, my favorite gun is Ego's but I would have to get used to the small trigger frame on the 08.

Good point. The small trigger frame is something you would have to get used to, but if you liked the Etek2 and like Ego's, you should probably go with the Ego8. Some people, like myself, prefer the way spoolies shoot (over poppets), but if you had an Etek and liked it, you should think about going with the Ego8. However, if you go with the DM8, you wont be disappointed (but they will probably be more expensive than Ego8's).

Well I could make a deal with my shop, they sponsor us so from here on out I will call them my sponsor, anyway my sponsor could get me a DM8 for the same price as an 08 Ego both of them used for $650-$700. I really do like Ego's and my PMR wasn't my favorite because it was the 08 edition with all plastic parts and what not. Are DM8's light and skinny, quiet and effecient?

PMR is a REALLY REALLY cheap version of a PM7/8. Not a good representation of Dye/Proto's manufacturing quality. The DM8 is not extremely efficient, and probably not as efficient as the Ego. They are pretty light (a little heavier than the Ego8; not sure if you will even notice), and is pretty skinny (again, not as skinny as the Ego). But at this point, were talking millimeters and ounces, which wont make much of a difference during play.
