Alright......
I have a smart parts ion with a stock barrel, and I am looking to upgrade my barrel. I was just wondering if there we any suggestions.

My buget is no more than $70

If you have your heart set on buying new, check out the Redz Pepperstickz, the invert nitestick, and the Freak Jr. Kit.
If you are willing to buy used, search on ebay and see if you can find any of these in your price-range:
Powerlyte Sceptor

Deadlywind fibur

I suggest a Carbon Fiber barrel if you can get one.

FYI, if you do end up with a CF barrel...
If you use a cotton style squeegee on a carbon fiber barrel, it may pull up the fibers and make them start to unravel, thus damaging the barrel. Deadlywind makes the only carbon fibur barrel that can be swabbed.

I personally love my JJ Ceramic barrel, but I do not recommend it because I have seen them literally break in half. My best bet would be a .685 CP barrel.

That's way to small, the paint I use is usually around .689... If you are going to get a single barrel, you need to go with a big bore like .691

True, besides the Fibur, make sure you use a pull-through style squeegee.

.685 seems really small. Sometimes my .689 cuts it close.

I would get a cp 1 piece with a .693, I love my cp and there really cheap.
My sig was edited because it was not within the rules. Images used in signatures are to be less then Width of 600px, and height of 160px. Only ONE image is aloud in the signature, and it must be 30k or less. Only 5 lines of text are aloud. No text larger then size 2 is aloud in the signature.

if u can find them get a lucky un1tec. best barrel under a $100
the moderators agree that while Micheal Phelps as a super sayan animated gif is very very funny.......it is way to big and violates the size rule. I will now go reread the rules and fix my signature -jaldrich

Not completley true, I believe that Stiffi fixed this problem a while back(correct me if I am wrong), and using a cotton swab no longer voids your warranty or messes up your barrel.

My friend is using a freak barrel with the .691 insert on his ion and it's shooting fairly well.
Dye ultra lights are good of course
I really like my Proto 1 piece, .691
(not on an ion though)
You could go with Mike's favorite, CP 1 piece .693

I agree, go with a CP barrel, and always over-bore so when it gets later in the day and the paint starts to expand, it doesn't affect your accuracy.

video wasn't made for this purpose but you can see the CP barrel is extremely accurate plus it was raining like 5 minuets before i went outside, the barrel was SOAKED but still was amazingly accurate

oh and btw some other good upgrades you should consider are a new board (APEs are sick), def a new ASA (i have an ego on-off), and a new reg (im looking into a CP)
