Ive never even heard of frisco texas...anyways look above and read that world cup is for paintball exposure. so many people go to disney world that they are bound to see the paintball and it might draw their attention. thousands of people go to that area everyday...you cant say that about the pizza hut stadium in middle of nowhere texas. im from cali and i say keep world cup in FL and the 7 man mecca should stay in HB. its like the 2 leagues on paintball on dif sides of the country

i would definately say no cause why would they want to go around each year trying to find another place to put on an awesome venue they should stay at disney

If your parents don't support this sport and you pay for your own gear, put this in your sig.
98% percent of ballers wipe, If your part of the 2% that has some sense of honor, add this to your sig.

I say no.

World Cup has always been in Orlando / Kissimee Florida.

If you haven't been, World Cup is held at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex. Which is a fantastic venue for multiple reasons.

1.The area is very nice and presented well. Almost everything in the entire Disney area is very well kept up and nice looking. This is very important to those outside the sport possibly being exposed to it for the first time, they don't want to see some run down field with mud all over the place and think "So this is the biggest paintball tournament?"

2.Parking. If you have never been to World Cup the amount of parking needed to accommodate both players and fans is insane. This year Disney had to use an over flow lot because they were running out of room in the complex. In addition Disney also offered FREE busing to and from the other lot that literally picked you up curb side at the event. The buses ran all day free of charge with no more than 5-10 minute wait. Very few other venues can offer services like this.

3.Exposure. TONS of people go to Disney on a daily basis, for many World Cup may be the first paintball tournament they have ever seen. So its very important that it is at such a great venue so our sport is presented well to the public.

4.Nightlife / themeparks. Anyone who has been to World Cup will tell you that its not all about the paintball. Since World Cup is right inside Disney there is TONS to do at night or when you are not playing, from the infamous Old Town to all of Disneys great theme parks and attractions, restaurants and night clubs.

Also, if you have ever been to World Cup you would know that Disney's Wide World of Sports is very easy to spot. Its on a very major road that goes throughout Disney taking the public to and from other resorts and theme parks, the fact that it is in such a prominent place makes it easier for the public to come check it out since they are passing right by it.

Im sure there are other reasons I could have listed, but those are the first to come to mind.

Basically, what it comes down to is the quality of the Venue and the surrounding area. I think you will be very hard pressed to find another Venue quite as nice and accomodating as Wide World of Sports. Also the PSP as a very good long standing relationship with Disney, which is something they would do well to maintain.

Yea i would have to agree with you their. I still think they could move it around. Even if it in 5 different locations pre-built. So each year they can move it and already have the fields ready besides blowing up bunkers and pulling out tents...ect.

Yea it would cost lots of money to get the land and the fields permamently built. They could even let people pay a certain amount each year to play on it. like a privat field just for tournaments and people that hhave membership. Idk if youll get what im saying.

Of corse it would take a few years to get all the fields up and stuff.

thats one of the most selfish things ive heard about paintball, so what you only have 1 event, MOST PARTS OF THE COUNTRY DONT EVEN HAVE ONE!!!!!, besides you have had the most major tournament ever so far there since 1996??? I agree that they should not move cup but not for the above reason

I think no because it wont be near people enough to make it worth leaving the great facilities at disney. i live in ohio and its to cold in this area so we wouldn't be able too hold it anywhere near me. the facilities at disney are great lots of area for the venue and they know what we need and what to expect as far as crowds at the event and parking.

I think the basic idea is great about moving it around such as the super bowl and there are other great venues they could hold it at but i think they should keep it held where it is at. Just hearing all the positive things that the pros have to say about how increadible it is i think is enough for me to say lets leave it there. I live in arkansas but where all would they move it to besides cal? and basically if they move it there isnt no location in the central USA where it could be held at the magnatude that it is held at there.

It should stay in Central Florida. We have more to offer than any other location in the world. Disney, Universal, Sea World, Downtown Disney, City Walk, Old Town, Ebor City, Gulf Coast Beaches, and Atlantic Coast Beaches just to name a few of the attractions around.

Can your area offer more? (Texas, California)

I vote keep it at Disney. But if it has to move we should send it to London.
1. London has 5-6 airports (easy travel)
2. The event would more truly represent it's name WORLD Cup
3. London has other stuff to do (like Orlando/Kissimme)
4. Numerous quality venues (Millenium Dome, Emirates Stadium, etc.)

-1. Added cost for all involved (except Planet Eclipse and a few others)

so basically ur saying that they would rather move the place around the world to make it sound like WORLD CUP and make less money doing so. barely anybody would go all the way to london just go play/watch paintball. too much money going a quarter way around the world. If paintball was more known and known as a proffesional sport then they could do that but for now paintball is soo small compared to other sports that can do that and can still make the same amount of money where ever around the globe. once paintball is reconized more to the general public and a "normal sport" which i doubt will happen, then it can really kick off to become a sport around the world and still make the same venue.

i say no.
like others have mentioned, paintball needs a constant in this sport.
we can't seem to agree on a universal bps cap, a lot of the leagues are going bankrupt, and as Kitty mentioned, the HB event is done for as well.
(i was planning to see that the year after the final year. :( )

Im surprised though Texas hasnt had ANY events so far since 2006, We are the 3rd biggest paintball playing state behind Florida and California, both of those have 1-2 events PER YEAR, we havent had one in 3 years, we also have 4 huge cities within 3 hours of each other anyway, Dallas/Fort Wort, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, All of those have over 1 million people in each, and they are all within 3 hours of each other, very convenient if you ask me for an event.

I think it should stay for now... Maybe later down the road when the sport has grown much larger, then it can start to get the idea of moving around. I admit, I'd love to have it near my home state of Colorado, but we cant offer a complex even close to that caliber...Hell, we can barely keep fields and stores in business. And I'd much rather see everything go smoothly with a good outsider look on it. So maybe in the distant future, but for now, no.

i think that it is a cool idea, but i dont not feel that you should mess with tradition. look at the probowl, that has never changed and people love it. tradition is tradition. without history we are nothing and this is a piece of tradition that i would love to be a part of. i mean it is also part of the whole World Cup thing. idk, just my opinion and this isnt really based on fact, just my opinion
