I have a mini, I like it as my backup backup, but I also have an Ion, and I like it as well. If you already have an Axe and an Ion, just keep them both and don't get the mini. The Axe shouldn't go down much, and if maintained, the Ion will definitely do what you need it to. Save your money and go play some more, IMO.
Remember kids, the best backup is a reliable primary.
the best back up is a back up. even the most reliable gun in the world will go down eventually.
Yeah, you always have to account for Murphy's Law. -

In Topic: Ego 09 v Invasion

Both are phenominal guns, but the ego 9 had it's share of problems such as the plank kit and the eye covers were known to shake themselves loose.
That being said, if you can find a solid ego 9, it is quite a bit slimmer than the invasion and doesn't run into the problems that macroline-less guns encounter. You really can't go wrong with either, but the fact that with the invasion you are getting a brand new marker makes it the slight winner in my book. -

as long as money isnt the problem
This. Definitely this. I'm upgrading to it from the pinokio because, although it's a great woodsball/ backplayer hopper, it's just too high profile. Plus there's no battery life indicator, even though the battery life rocks, you kinda have to remember when you changed them last. The shell also seems quite brittle, so a nasty smack against the ground or hard bunker could be the end of it. The Spire seems to be made from high grade unobtainium that is almost impossible to break whilst playing.
