Praetorian, on 19 May 2013 - 10:58 PM, said:for the Ion I wouldn't worry about a barrel kit just get a CP 1-piece and find the bore size you need. Just find out what paint is boring at then go down .002, like if your paint feels like it's boring at a .684 get a .682 or .683, that will keep you consistent enough and if your fields paint isn't very good stuff you wont get many barrel breaks(seems like if I use a .679 in my pump it barrel breaks way more(my paint bores out large(.686ish)
I got my freak barrel (used) for $30 - front (chrome) back and 1 insert. For the ion they are dirt cheap if you know where to look (used). I agree new, its more economical to get the cp, but used you can get the freak system and get the inserts you want for around the same price. -

Freak barrel kit. I have a silver/chrome AA front that looks great. Mirror shine to it. You should get one. They made matching backs too i believe, but I just have black. Good contrast. -

After bleeding alot playing outlaw at my friends, I decided to get a handheld chrono. I knew my gun was firing below the limit as I go to feilds regularly, but my friends play strict outlaw.
I got the chrono. And checked the speed of their tippmans. 371, 348 and 310. Only one was below at 270fps. They did not change it from factory. I replaced all my lenses after that and tuned them down. I always wondered why I bled a lot there. Mystery solved. Im just glad nobody got seriously injured.
I strongly suggest one if you tune, fix, tinker with your markers or play outlaw. -

Shotgun scopes work well. I have had one for a couple years and they work great! Especially with first strike.
Since shotguns have plenty of kickback they make scopes with long eye relief. Your looking for 4-6" relief for masks. Pistol scopes may work too.
Many a time people try putting on 22 scopes on their markers. These things have shitty eye relief and cannot be used with masks.
That being said, if all your going to use it is for regular paintballs, a red dot works better. If your gonna combo it, a 1.5-4.5x tasco shotgun scope works great. The 1.5 magnification allows you to see the complete trajectory of the paintballs. -

Thanks for Pm'ing me.
I will need more info. It is normal for the board to vent via exhaust. The problem comes when you cant fire full shots (vents heavily when fired), OR it constantly vents from the exhaust.
The board CANNOT constantly open the exhaust. It takes too much power to run the noid for that long, and the programming wont allow it. So factory default wont help unless its a blackheart and the dwell is set too low (vents heavily only when fired).
So let me know if its a contant leak or when fired.
