The kid was 16 years old.. Technically a minor in the books of law.. A heavy money infraction would have been enough, especially for only doing 1 punch.

If you read the article he hit multiple kids... and the guy was 30 something he was not a minor he was assaulting minors.

badly worded on my part, sorry. The minor he hit, was 16 years old. He hit two kids. Two! one punch each. That does not warrant 6 months jail time imo, when a normal community service and a hefty fine would suffice. Also, I am not saying what he did was right and that he should not be punished for it.

Jail time seems like the appropriate disciplinary action in this instance.
