Axe pros: nice trigger, 8 pods efficieny, shoots well, decently quiet, macroless, plenty of people use it,
Axe cons: pain to completely take apart, need to unscrew things to change settings, comes in a box, front grip may take some getting used to.
Drone pros: very smooth and quiet, 9 pods efficiency, more standard design, easy to take apart, easy to change modes, 14 inch barrel, comes with a case and lube
Drone cons: some don't like the trigger, grips are less tacky, more o-rings on the bolt assembly.
The newer axes come with the shockwave board where the only thing you have to unscrew the cover for is to turn off tournament lock, and if you have an older axe you can just email kee and they will send you one for free -

Well I recently had the same issue so I contacted empire and they shipped me out the new board for free. The new board is beneficial as it is now water resistant and you can change the modes on the gun without having to open the grip cover. -
