From the sound of it, I'm guessing you purchased everything new. Good or bad decision it ultimately up to you, however when I bought my first hpa tank it was new (ninja 68/4.5K) and my Rotor was new as well(much lower than it is now new ). The only thing I purchased used was my mask, and even though the guy said it had been worn maybe once it looked like it had never been worn. He gave me a great deal on it and I've been happy with my purchase decisions. I currently only get out to play a handful of times a year just due to my work schedule and having a family that I like spending time with. With that said, I still feel the best two purchases I have made were the, at the time full price, Rotor and Ninja 68/4.5K tank. Neither have failed me and I get to own that tank for its full 15 year life if I so choose.

Just get the gear you want to play with and who cares if you only play paintball once a month, at least you will be happy and enjoy using quality gear each outing.

I am new to paintball and I have watched mikes videos and followed those steps I bought my mask (Dye i4) my loader (Dye Rotor) and tank (ninja 68/45). I spent 400 dollars on all of it and still need a gun (looking into the G4/5 ) but was it worth the cost if at most I will play once or twice a month ( more likely to only play once).
