18 February 2013 - 01:51 PMI certainly do. You might want to branch out a littke bit before you bash all internships, possibly do a lil research on the company before applying.
Which I did, I'm not stating the name of the company, but it was rather large, you won't find much beyond marketing talk, it's not like you're going to call someone and they'll tell you, "Oh! Yes, here is exactly what you'll be doing during the internship with a written guarantee and I'll have the signed and notarized!"
You get what you get, and I stated that yes, there are SOME, maybe ONE decent internship that will actually help you out, but for the 99.99% of you who apply to one, once again, you'll learn absolutely nothing and gain nothing from the experience, the business will profit from your slave labor and nothing more, if you even walk away with a positive reference it would be a miracle.
The fact of the matter is that really the only reason for internship is it is a resume booster. It is used for when you go for your first job out of college to show that you have some experience in the field that you are trying to obtain a position for wether it be a great internship or one that everyday you send out letters and got coffee for the boss. It serves the same as getting great grades in college. It is used for your initial job interview for you first job and then after that all your next job really cares about is your past experiences and that you went to college.
