GOG eXTCy Problem(s)
20 May 2012 - 11:40 PM
I just purchased a GOG eXTCy new from ANSgear about 4 weeks ago and have had a couple issues.
First, towards the end of my first paintball outing with my new marker, it began to misfire the majority of the time I pulled the trigger. It would either make a weird sound as though not enough air was being released to push the ball out or nothing would happen at all. I thought that this may have been caused by me not knowing how to properly use the on/off ASA as I did not look it up until after that outing. I did not have the knob turned all the way in and thought that may have not allowed enough air to get into the regulator.
Second, towards the end of my second paintball outing, my marker began to have the same problem as last time. I checked the battery (Rayovac) and it was almost dead even though I had only shot about a case of paint. I put a new Energizer battery in it and the issue went away.
Third, during my third paintball outing, my marker began to fire much more slowly than it should. As in, the bps cap was set to 12 but it was shooting at what I would guess to be somewhere around 6 bps. I checked and double checked all of the board settings (using factory defaults) but it was still messing up. I set the firing mode to full auto (had previously been shooting in capped semi-auto) and the marker appeared to be shooting at the correct speed. It is as if about half the trigger pulls are not registering in semi-auto. When I pull the trigger at a slow pace every pull registers, but when I walk the trigger, even making sure that my fingers come all the way off the trigger, the marker begins to miss pulls. What could be the problem?
