im really not the best person to answer this, but i think id like the phenom a bit more, just because its alot like an automag and can shoot without a battery.
but i really dont know the features of both, im just going of looks and that, haha.

I would go with the Phenom, because the board of the BFG is not at all programmable, and the set BPS is not right for most of our fields in the states.

Phenom. Internally, it's like an automag. The BFG is like an MG-7. I think the automag is better. I also like that you don't need a battery to run the phenom. The phenom is also more advanced in that it doesn't have a hose.

id take the bfg, for one reason, EYES

ill take any gun that has eyes. even if the gun can run without a battery, or it includes a hopper

eyes are essencial in my guns

i own a tm15, and id still take it over many guns, just because of the eyes

plus the bfg, can still use a stock, and it doesnt have an angled asa. so you could pretty much use it properly with a tank instead of the stock

as for the phenom, angled asa for co2, and its not upgradeable, since its specially designed to not use a hose

bfg will take any asa direct mount asa

and its a center feed gun, perfect for switching hands

but thats just me

Doesn't the Phenom's cyclone feed accomplish the same thing as eyes?

One potential advantage I see with the BFG is that it moves the loader and barrel a bit closer to your hand instead of spaced forward like a Tippmann.

it does not, since it will continue firing even without paintballs in the breach. and the gun is not making sure that the paintball is seated in the breach before firing, it just fires

Trust me, the X7 Phenom rarely breaks balls, just like if it did have eyes, the Cyclone feed system can keep up with it, and all you have to do is get squishy paddles, since the plastic ones are a little hard on paint, and if you want more efficiency, just upgrade the power tube for it.

I changed my mind....I think the BFG is better since it's centerfeed and has eyes. I thought that the BFG was a right feed for some reason, and eyes are amazing to have.

I know that the Phenom's cyclone is a good system, but you have to wonder why they didn't just put some freaking eyes on it. Then, the choice would be pretty easy for me. If it had the cyclone, and eyes, I have to assume that you would almost never break paint.

Personally, I am still so new to PB that I don't know if I like the center feed, or right feed better. Center makes more sense, but I need to shoot more with one to get the aiming down. I can still aim better with one that has a clear sight line over the top of the barrel. It just feels more natural to me to look over the top of the barrel. A right feed doesn't make it any harder for me to look down the barrel when shooting with my left since it is already awkward to have a hopper directly over the center of the gun to me. To me a right feed is an advantage since it's only a little awkward to aim on one side instead of equally awkward to aim on both sides with a center feed. Just my take on it, but I know everyone likes speedball guns here. I'm trying to learn to like them.

the cyclone won't break balls. my cousin was using my alpha black with egrip and cyclone, put it on 15bps ramping (15bps is it's max rof) and it didn't break at all. it kept a steady stream of paint. I was very impressed. and, you can play in the rain with the phenom, but with the bfg you're risking frying your board.

actually the BFG has been proven to be waterproof.
And my bro got his response to about 21 BPS, and he only has chopped 1 ball so far, and it was one crappy ball.
