yeah, you send it to me. I bore it, you pay and I send it back. $30 for the service and you cover shipping back. usually is about $33 total. not sure what turn around time is right now - but I'm not terribly busy so shouldn't be that long.

I'd like to get this done for my A1 as well. Let me know, it's the same barrel as his except in a .691 back.

I put your barrel in the lathe and just couldn't get it to work. I didn't cut it since I couldn't get it concentric. The flat spot on earlier BL barrels near the thread isn't there on this one - so I had to grab it on that flat part further out on the barrel. That OD just doesn't line up with the bore of the barrel.

I can give it a shot but there's a chance that it'll get killed. PM me.

Very longshot style of question, and im pretty sure you may not be able to do this but whatever.

Can you Bore a Deathstix barrel, and or the 1" back for a freak insert?
I have a 0.696 inch back and im not even sure on the diameter of the barrel, but i'd love to actually use the barrel as my smallest back is 0.686 which is still huge lol.

or a J&J ceramic barrel. it came stock with my tac one its a 0.689 / 0.690 12 inch barrel, a 6 inch back and a 6 inch front.

deathstix are carbon fiber - right? then no. If they're not - then take a picture and post it up.

I haven't done a J&J - not sure what the coating does when it's cut - but it's aluminum under so it should work fine. take a picture of that one as well if you would.

absolutely, give me a bit though, I send a E-mail to J&J about the inside of the barrel and its coating, just to make sure i dont get a email back which looks along the lines of

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

or something like that....

And if it comes i'll also be sending a stock 14" Phantom barrel, im sure you have done enough of them lol. get one done might as well have em all done too.

I'm assuming that they're not going to tell you to chop away at their barrel - but feel free to ask. :)

as for the phantom - what color? I've got a black 14" bored and ready to ship.

aha, maybe lol. I dont think i need 2 phantom barrels. its a 14" black,
If you want to just "trade" em lol then i'm all for it, but regardless i'll be sending 2 barrels and receiving 2 barrels back if all goes to plan.

yeah, I'll give you $15 trade in for the phantom barrel (unless it's super damaged). So, that would be $30 for the J&J boring, $30 for the phantom boring and you pay shipping back - usually under $5. Work for you? if so catch me via PM and I'll give you my address.

I have a black Dye 12" ultralight freak bored barrel in Ion/ Impulse threads:

http://www.techpb.co...howtopic=123092

There's really no reason to bore CP backs - just get a small one. My price for boring would be about the same as just buying the 679 back and getting it new from the factory.

no, you can bore them. I turned one into the "chopper" barrel that I sold with my Autococker SR.

How did it work out? I have an angel inc, and might want to do the same to be able to use my leftover freak set when its called for.
And how much do you think it will cost extra for int. shipping? (if you do ship int. that is, if so, Norway).

I haven't done it yet. I can let you know when I know for sure. I would guess I would want $10-12 for shipping to Norway.

If a barrel is Freak bored, can you still use it without an insert?

Also, can they be made to work with the iFit inserts instead of Freak inserts?

no

and

possibly. the ifit inserts have a lip at the back end. it's a more complicated profile - one that I don't really have any interest in doing.

hmmmm, don't remember if the Trracer is big enough to bore. So I need one of two things. either I need you to put some calipers on it and tell me what the thinnest OD is at the threads or you can send it to me to check out. If I can't do it I'll send it back.

It was a pain in the ass. The curves and flutes made it tough to grab in the lathe. I would rather not do any more of those.

I'm looking into getting a used freak back with angel treads.
So hopefully there is no need.

Just liked the idea of using the original barrels with my freak inserts.

Edit 11.02.2011:
Seems that didn't work out.
And not really that many to chose from online either, since smartparts "died".

Guess there is little chance you will take on another one bryce?

GOG seems to be shipping freak stuff again.

I can give it a shot - but it would have to be with the deal that it is highly likely that it will be marked on the exterior and my be destroyed in the process. I had one work - but it was touch and go.
