Count me in.

Here's some songs I messed around with. Some are better than others, and it is because the first few songs I was just starting out.

I suggest the last few, except "Raiza's Exclusive." I'm not so good with rap and she wanted rap lol.

Any advice for a newbie who wants to do songs from the ground up? (guides, DJ fourms, personal expirence, programs used, starter programs, ect.)

I kinda want to slap together some hardstyle, dubstep, and make what i think DnB should be

I'm a n00b at DJing.

But I think it's fun mixing, and I'm trying to pick it up.

I'm using an M-Audio X-Session Pro (I know, it's like the Brass Eagle of paintball, I was given it free) and a free crappy version of Torq (I feel a little embarrassed writing this lulz) that won't even function properly on my super slow computer.

I'm making a few decisions for the future,

Traktor vs Ableton vs Serato

And which mixer to get, plus if I should get turn tables as well as that. (I feel like a noob asking if I should get a CO2 tank with my Spyder :P )

Meh, I'm waiting until I get my MacBook Pro before I start buying stuff though. I won't be using the turntables for scratching, just beatmatching and such I guess, so I'm wondering if I should even get turntables to start off, or just to use that $200+ on the mixer/software.

edit: I noticed you put Stick in for playing DJ Hero, I might as well throw in I have DJ Hero 1 and 2 with 2 turntables trolololololol

Butters and Cubeman you're added :P

Cubeman, Virtual DJ is in my opinion the best Vjay program. It lets you do almost anything once you figure it out. I don't think it's worth it to buy turntables until you see if you're interested.

Uh, stupid question, but can you use CDJs and such without actually using a CD inside them? Like just hooking it up to a mixer which is hooked up to a computer and just use it as a controller for your PC DJ work? Sorry if this makes no sense and I'm pretty sure this is a super n00b question.

yeah vdj is a good program better then tractor in my opinion. all of them are kind of the same after you have been djing for a while. What type of djing do you want to do. And yes with some programs you dont have to have a cd in the cd player depending on the table.....

he are some cheaper cd players that do both

I have a hard time playing that game. To me is seems to me like a bunch of cutting and effect modulators. Glad I started with the real thing lol. The game does promote people wanting to start real djing, some have told me. Just get a cheap controller, its way more fun then dj heroing lol.

If anybody busts out some good hip hop beats pm me. I pay for beats with lyrics so dont expect cash.
Me myself I dont DJ but I produce beats with Reason and my Oxygen 8 midi Keyboard. I got that and a mini recording studio with AKG mic and Digidesign Mbox 2
Used to be really into it did some shows and whatnot but the other 2 members of my group dropped off and left me hangin and I kinda stopped having fun

I'm thinking I'll just pick up a MIDI controller like the Vestax VCI 100

http://pro-audio.mus...ller?sku=630189

Posted Image

Most people I've asked in person who looked into my situation personally, all said I should get a MIDI controller first. My X Session Pro is shitty though, the crossfader doesn't work, I think that's why I got it for free :P

For DJing where all your music, software and everything is on your Mac/PC, I guess that would make me a PC DJ. I wouldn't need fancy CDJs and Mixers when the software it taking care of a lot of that.
