Thanks for this thread. I ordered a 100x rebuild kit for my 2011 Rail using your instructions. In comparison to the cost of a rebuild kit on paintball websites, this is more than worth the "effort".

I agree we should make a topic with all of the different guns and their orings. Then it would save us tons of time! I don't have any guns really but I could do it for a brass eagle avenger :P

.I never know what to put in these things.

Since they don't ship to Canada, do you know of any websites like that the serve Canadians?

o-ring monkey.com

As much of a great website that it is, they hardly offer a deal as good as this one, they also charge 15 dollars for a 7 dollar fly and tackle box that you can get practically anywhere. Why get a 10x rebuild kit for $17 from oring monkey when i can get a 100x rebuild for $20? Is there any canadian industrial supplyers like this one?

Never going to buy from oring monkey again either, or droring, ordered a few times from there and there too cheap to include the british standard orings of my vanguard markers, im already paying out 100x more than the real cost of a oring, and im buying a full rebuild kit but they only send 2/3 of the required orings my gun takes.......... Yeah. Thumbs down.

some companies will ship to canada if you ship to them, theres also a LOT of 3rd party people here willing to ship to canada for us, ask a players club or a moderator on here, somebody you can trust.

you could always try and call the company and ask if they'll ship an order of orings.
while they might not ship to canada as a general rule, perhaps they would make an exception if they realize the order is simply orings.

blame vanguard instead for poor design. good design involves easily accessable materials, if the design requires difficult to attain materials, then they better not be replaced often. The orings that vanguard uses are 1 of a kind and no one uses them in the industry except them. I dont blame oring monkey for not having them in stock as theyre expensive and have to be custom ordered.

I have a question. What did you do for the orings that tippmann specify as b70 and b90? Is there something special you need to do, like are they thicker or something?

this is speculation on my part, but i think the "b" in "b90" stands for BUNA. in that case, they are just normal nitrile orings.

the 70 and 90 refers to the durometer of the orings.

Quick question. For my Valken Proton I was looking into buying some extra orings. I was looking at my manual and it says I have these:

-018 70 Duro
-011 90 Duro
-006 Teflon
-010 90 Duro

m1 X 14
-018 70 Duro
-109 70 Duro
M1 X 12
-010 70 Duro
-016 70 Duro
M1 X 16.5
-014 70 Duro
-011 70 Duro
-014 70 Duro

Could I just find the three digit width and be fine?

the orings on your proton are a mix of metric and standard sizes.

the sizes labeled "011", "014", "016", etc. are just standard sizes. you can follow the guide to get those.

the ones that are "M1 x 12" are the metric ones. they can be a pain in the butt to order on your own.
typically metric orings are labeled as "1 x 4". the "1" refers to the height of the oring. essentially how thick it is. the 4 refers to the inner diameter of the oring.

where it gets confusing is that the 2nd number can also refer to the outer diameter and most companies don't clarify. you could call valken and ask them. from there you can just order them by looking through metric sizes as opposed to the standard ones.

70 and 90 refer to the durometer of the orings, which if im not mistaken, is a measure of their hardness.

006 teflon would be a teflon oring(which i've never actually heard of before) in size 006.

How do I look for these or are there equivalent substitutes on the McMaster website?

Hey Pakistani,
Where did you get that reference printout for the o-rings? That's a good idea that I'd like to copy. =)

here you go guys.

the orings come in marked bags just like i said. they came to me in a padded envelope, but i didnt really bother including it.
the packing slip also labels the plastic bags they come in, so there should be any fear of getting the sizes confused.

combine the orings with a tackle box from walmart and some time in photoshop and you have a pretty functional tech kit-
front cover- an oring sizer (yes, that is oring monkey's oring sizer chart, i feel bad for removing their logos, but i didnt exactly have all the room in the world.)
inside cover- just some quick reference stuff for my DM. has which orings go where in the gun. also has some quick settings for my virtue board.

so im trying to build a kit for my axe, this is the only information i could find regarding the o-rings i need

Number        DESCRIPTION                              ?????                    SKU #                 Qty
11                  Bolt Oring                                   17.171.78             17534                   2
13        Bolt Guide Small (Front) Oring                11
1.5                   17537                   4
14             Bolt Guide Cap Oring                        141.8                   17538                   1
23         Air Transfer Tube Female Oring             4.9
1.9                  17555                   1
44         Bolt Guide Large O-ring                         232.6                   72340                  3
20          Air Transfer Tube Male Top Oring           12
1                      17552                 1
21       Air Transfer Tube Male Bottom Oring        12*0.8                  17553                  1

the number is the reference number in the manual, description is what the o-ring is for, not sure what the center column is (hence the ????)but is not part of the maual, the SKU# is a reference for empire parts and QTY is the number you get in the parts kit.

Im assuming the ??? column is in reference to the size but i have no idea as to what the actual size would be

What is the biggest difference in performance between the 70 duro and the 50 duro.  Is it possible to replace all the o-rings in a spool valve with the 50 duro and actually notice a difference between those and the standard 70 duro?

https://www.oringsus...of_o-rings.html

The biggest difference in performance comes from the hardness factor of the o-ring rubber.  Softer o-rings are typically very expensive versus a 70 or 90 durometer which is most commonly found in markers.  50 is just too soft to use in a high friction environment because it gives so much.  As an example a pencil eraser is around 40 durometer and a car tire is around 60 durometer.

70 durometer o-rings are kind of like the perfect storm of elastic properties.  The harder elastic properties allows it to take higher friction environments (such as in a spool valve or any engine really) without abrasing (too much).
