Welcome to the Proto Matrix Owners Group, this is a group for anyone with a Proto Matrix. In order to get into the group you must either post a picture of your gun with your name next to it or post three pictures of your gun. You must stay active within the group. The first Three members will become council members. If you have a question about your Matrix, dont post a new topic, post a comment in here. Represent the group and put a link to us in your sig.

You're almost better off buying a used PM6 if you can find one with the UL frame already installed. The frame itself it $250 new. I've seen used UL'd Pm6s going for that price. Just a thought.

Thanks. I'm pretty pumped, this Sunday will be the first time I've played since November 1st, even worse I had to ref all that time inbetween, watching people play all day and not being able to play myself. It was a traumatic experience.

Playing in the snow and cold FTW!

My new PM8:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Fully polished bolt:

Posted Image

Right now it full cycles at 1.75 turns on the LPR with no dropoff at 13bps. But it has only had a couple cases through it. So, I'm hoping a few more cases will full break in the regs and I'll be able to lower the pressure. I also will be doing a full polish of the bolt can.

When I get my chrono in, I'll be toying around with tophat mods to see if the smaller dump chamber of the 8's really can be tweaked any more.

Hey guys, just got to use me new PM8 with Rotor for the first time and it fires kitten shaped death rays, seriously, that good. It was an awesome day, got to play in the snow and freexe mah fingas! Might have some pics up soon.

I can't post as much cause my laptop was sent away, wireless card died. So now I either have to use my Wii(I hate my Wii and you can't post on these forums with it) or use my computer in my cold ass basement.

Runs at about 2 turns on the LPR just fine... bolt isn't even polished. I attribute this to the 25ms dwell I have it on, and the great properties of the MacDev Militia lube I've been using on it.

There's a thread floating around on the 'Nation. I modified the process but it takes: sandpaper, Mothers aluminum polish, a dremel and a whole lot of love.

More specs on it after polishing the can: 1.75 turns at 18 dwell, 2.25 turns at 14 dwell or 1.5 turns at 20 dwell. 10bps PSP ramping with no bolt delay.

Still need to get my chrono in to check the consistency/velocity of each setup.

That's exactly why I haven't attemped it yet. Seems like a lot to risk for just 1 turn of the LPR.

Well, like I said, this PM8 only has a couple cases on the regs. I'm hoping for a bigger drop once I put another 3 to 5 through it. If not, I'll sell it off and pick up an older DM.

When I polished my DM6 bolt, i got it down to a 1/2 turn on the LPR at 14 dwell, 3/4 turn at 12 dwell and it was ridiculously easy on paint and efficient. Moreso than any tophat mod I've had on it.

Recently I polished both of my buddies DM7's and one got down to 1 1/2 turns (orange bolt) and the other down to 1 3/4 turns.

The bolts can actually stand a lot of abuse as long as you use the proper techniques. I only used the dremel for the final polishing part of the process.

Proto M8 with Rotor, Ninja 68/45 tank. No ups other than a Pepperstickz kit, and I haven't made any adjustments other than the HPR due to the shitty weather and lack of a chrono. I'm VERY new to spoolies and fairly new to paintball in general.

I am going to have some tax refund money that is gonna burn a hole in my pocket, and want to up my PM8.

Can I buy laser eyes from Virtue, and a Yakuza board from Tadao and have them work together? I would imagine so, but I don't want to spend the money if it's not going to fly. I'm holding off getting my magnet trigger kit till I decide if I want to do this or not.
